He wasn’t the biggest slave owner in South Carolina. Someone else won that title. Also, it’s important to know that many of these slave owners of color became that way as a way to keep families together And because they were in the financial position to make an impact, many of them purchased family, and otherwise that because of the law that if a persons mother was a slave, then they were slave, so it was more semantics as far as them being slaveowners, but really more so caretakers of many of their family members under the legal title of slaveholder, and most did not treat their slaves with the level of abuse that white slaveholders levied against their property.

I fully understand your insightful perspective and honest opinion. I would highly suggest going to South Africa Johannesburg and Capetown. Nigeria Kenya and Senagal I loved so so much. Liberty is too adorable.
Oh my gosh!! Great to see you two! I found you all when I was researching for my trip to Ghana in 2019. Fast forward, I'm now post-retirement and live in Johannesburg after spending subsequent years exploring the Continent.
