If the chain is in good order, the rubber seals can’t be penetrated. Clean with kerosene and put a light coat of gear oil on it. The chain links are sealed
I might have to try that even though its not safe.. Spend 30minutes trying to clean my chain today and first of all had to use the whole can of cleaner to get anywhere and after I was done I was still getting oil on my fingers. To be fair the letting it rest for 5minutes kind of blew past me and I just started brushing right after spraying :x
