I love school. I like the things that actually teach us stuff. I can’t stand being cramped into a class room with people that probably don’t like me and that I don’t like just to get beat down by a teacher telling ME specifically that I’m not gonna be anything

I've got my GED and I'm a doctor. What are you truly learning in high school? All you learn is discipline and memorization. You're not taught to think critically or to have an opinion about anything. The tools that they give you in high school are useless. Dropping out of school allowed me to take placement exams and go to college at age 17. I set up an eBay marketplace company at the age of 13 with approval from my parents. I learned much more about business than any public school teacher could have taught me.

When I went to High School, I had to wake up at 5:40am to be at my first class at 7:20AM for an 8 hour day at school (before extra curricular activities). Class was 5 days a week and each one of my 8 classes throughout the day gave homework totaling about 2.5 to 3 hours a night. I remember feeling much pressure from my teachers when homework was late, or I did bad on a test. I feel like such a fool knowing I could have just sat at home, watched RU-vid videos and take practice tests for the GED. My friend who got a GED said they only needed study about 20 hours a week over the course of 1 year.

I love how they paint the person getting there GED as some bad, good for nothing person who can't get it done. Such a dumb stereotype, each story is different. Just because you have degrees doesn't mean you have actual wisdom (This coming from a dual degree student currently working on Undergrad and Masters)! People who pursue their GED should be applauded for their continuous effort to get their education finished instead of giving up. A HS Diploma is not the only way.

Yeah. This “getting a GED is bad compare a traditional high school diploma” thing is simply dumb. Just because you are getting GED rather than high school doesn’t make you a bad guy. @@martyfakenewsman170 no I had to sacrifice my schooling, education for my mother and father when my mom got lucemia and my father came off a truck with a trainee blind un able to open his eyes for more than one to two seconds. So once my mom was better or actually she still worked while she was sick and, guess who had to give my dad lunch breakfast and dinner I did, because my mom had to keep a roof over us, and since my dad would have to go see a urologist or someone that works on the brain and stuff, which believe me is not cheap, adding to that he had to go a state over to get this doctor... so I stayed home and gave him his medicine, did dishes laundry, during this time I tried doing homeschool. This lasted like 2 years. Before it was done though My parents could not afford to take care of me so I moved to live with my brother and was finally able to get a good solid three months of school before having to go back because, if you don't know this if you live away from home out of state as a 14 year old you enter into the foster care program and then you get adopted. Since my parents surely did not want this I was taken back to my home and went back into home school traveling 45 minutes for what they call a co-op meeting place for homeschoolers. If there was one thing that I did have trouble with it was math and the teachers pricaples, and councilers would not help me, when I finally got back to my hometown, school I entered back into school in middle school in seventh grade. So I was like 2 years behind then and, I ended up not passing one class wich was math but they let me pass, to grade 8 while still being in a lower math class which was fine because I passed it in summer school, then Onto highschool I was 16 in freshman year I already new I was not going to graduate, even though, again the teachers said they would find a way to boost mu education, they never talked again about it till sophmore year, to much time passed and I had to talk to a new princaple because our old one got fired and that same year my two friends commited suicide, and it struck us all in a very small town, these kids were happy and all that, and my friends and they still did it. 😢 I still miss those two, who were like brothers at times in my life. Now here I am and I am sophmore Ive decided a GED because it's my only hope left for a good education, then im going to the national gaurd for further education to get my associates, masters and maybe a bachlors... Just one thing when you see some one who has fell behind, don't always assume it was their choice. 😢 I wish I had the choice to get a diploma. Just to let you know I am now a A and B student in all my classes, please do not judge me like I messed around in school and did not care, I was forced to give up my education for my family so they would not go homeless. Not that college is even worth it today. The huge loads of debt a person receives (the length of time it takes to pay it all back.) As well as the prospect of getting a good job is very low. That prospect is even worse if you have a criminal history thinking that a degree would show employers your willingness to rehabilitate. Also, School debt is the one thing that can never be removed via bankruptcy. It is financial slavery. Businesses can borrow money and if that business fails, you can claim bankruptcy. School debt? Nope. Only the students are the ones getting screwed while the Universities are making money hand over fist. Price of books, tuition, other things like room and board, hell most schools want you to buy a laptop too. I owe over 50k in student debt, did a 2 yr tech degree and am broke. I won't even be able to make next months bills. That stimulus money kept me afloat for one more month. Not sure why I am even trying anymore.

I went back for reasons I dropped out of school and I would recommend for you to go back to school I dropped out at the age 16 I’m now 20 and I’m passing all of my classes right now and I’m doing a lot better in school it’s hard to get a job without a diploma in life I was suppose to graduate in 2016 I ended up giving up on school because I have a learning disability but now sense I have a second chance to get it I’m now turning my life around I feel more confident about my school work I now go to a alternative school and I’m ready for my future just trying to help others change their mines :).

Honestly I wanna fucking drop out at 16 and focus on my online business, but my mom is a bitch despite me making 1000 a day. She thinks "go to college so you can find a good job" is the best way to go about life. What the fuck. I make more than her and I pay for the rent and shit. She wants me to finish college so our relatives can see that "I finished something" Bitch, When I make a million dollars a year at 20 without a college degree, let's fucking see who would shut the fuck up. I'd rather have no degree and making all my relatives combined x2 in a year than being a dumb ass with a degree and working for someone. And as for someone like you, I feel bad that you've wasted all that time when you dropped out to not research on alternatives and other productive ways to make more money. But whatever, I drive an Audi to school everyday as I work on my dropshipping business in chemistry class and brand while my shit for show classmates learn about algebullshit. Wake the fuck up, it's 2019, there is endless free knowledge available to you at the click of a computer? Don't have a laptop? Do what I did, go to a public library signing up for a computer card and work on my business till my 2hour max time is over. But whatever, you do you. I seem angry because I know you are worth more than this.

but my advice for you honestly, just honestly, bare minimum if you want to make six figures is to go to a trade school, not college. Learning a trade is free and you get paid while you learn. Once you join a union and choose to start a company, hell even just sign a contract you'd be better than those college fuckers who got a finance degree making 60k a year. I mean shit, if you chose to invest 50% of your income, you are making more money than a doctor until you turn 45. Sorry if I come off as outrageous with these paragraphs, I just hate to see people today thinking there's only one way.
