The outboard? Boat, trailer and outboard cost me $6K in 2016 - couldn't pass it up. Most people are selling these 40hp 2 stroke Yamaha's now for $4K easy and have people lining up to buy it.
I have a 2011 yamaha 30hp cv I bought new.Has cost me $40 in 11 yrs.impellor $20,gear oil $10 and 2plugs $10.Let's see a 4 stroke cost that.I maintain it myself and it's like brand new still.
Purchased it straight from my local Yamaha dealer. Its a genuine cowl cover. To be honest, there are better ones around - these genuine ones seem to fade quite quickly
Love em! Last year i bought the last brand new 3 cylinder, 700cc, triple carby, direction injection, electric start, power trim and tilt, yamaha 2 stroke in Australia apparently. Ripper motor and love it to death would never swap for a 4 stroke.
Good stuff mate. Will do another video soon enough. Got my hands on a 2002 model 50hp with oil injection, elec start and trim and tilt and although nearly 20yrs old it is absolutely mint condition with less than 100hrs. Cheering!
@@theseverinarm4575 Yeah right thats a ripper find mate!! i really want the 50hp but i couldnt find any brand new ones around so jumped on the 40 when i found it. Cheers. look forward to the next video.
If you keep the mechanical oiler intake you won't ever have oil enter the carbs because Yamaha mixes the oil to the fuel BEHIND the carb, beautiful design, even if your carbs clogged or run lean, the cylinder still gets oil this way, no reason to remove it
Yes I purchased the boat/motor with a known fault that the trim and tilt was not fully operational. The price was reduced for this reason. I had a mobile marine mechanic in Cairns inspect and he had to overhaul most of it and re-gas. It certainly works very well now
Got the same w/elec. start on a tracker 1648, super reliable, 40 mph top speed altho I run it just on plane, right now needs impeller, plugs, and lower oil change, I absolutely love this rig only downfall no pull start not even an emergency pull slot on flywheel so I’ll be adding a pony o/board eng as I run off shore
Theo, have you considered using solid rings to split ring connections? A bit sexier than using clips. Less influence on lure action too, depending on choice of ring. They can’t open up either🤓
Not sure on that one mate. You'd have three potential points of failure (knot, solid ring, split ring) as opposed to 2 x with a loop knot and clip. Would be a little more time consuming changing lures with the split rings, though it has some merit. I get fussy with split rings too, the more you open one the more prone it is to opening up on you. Just my take on it all (and yes the plain old loop knot to lure still reigns supreme)
@@theseverinarm4575 mate, it impossible to break solid rings (providing they are the correct size) they never break on the biggest geets and reef fish. The split ring would be the weak point like you eluded to. It would be a case of using owner split rings. I can never trust snap lock clips, seen em cost people fish of a lifetime and they’d repeatedly warp and open on 2kg farm Barra. Ill see if I can find a good combination of solid ring to split ring and photograph it later.
