One of my all-time favorites - expat living in the philippines, a lovely homesick feeling every time I watch it - Part of my collection stored on my laptop
This was and still is one of my and my sisters’ favorite films. I am glad to know this wonderful event was held and I wish I were there!! And also I am glad to know Emily is doing great. I am aware that she had a hardship for a while and wonder about her time to time. Today, I did wonder how Emily was doing and came across this video!
i saw the movie on german tv in 97, dubbed in german. didnt understand a word but still enjoyed. never saw it again, and didnt know the name, but always wondered about it. finally found it again, and got to watch it in english. nice one
How I wish, how I wish you were here We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl Year after year Running over the same old ground What have we found? The same old fears Wish you were here Released 1975 by {ionk Floyd Is there any connection?
To think that the same amount of time has passed from when the film was made- to 2017 - as from the late 1950s (when it was set) to 1987..... frightening eh?
The original film was on BRAVO Film & Arts back in 1997. The crew at BRAVO was so human and special in those days, it got taken over by HACK media shortly thereafter.
Did this movie win any award? Because it deserves one or more. By the way, many talk about Emily's legs. And, yes: her legs are very shapely and, as a whole, she's a beautiful lady. Congrats to the director, the cast, and the production for a job very well done.
It's all about the moments in life and Emily Lloyd captured it perfectly. Ironically speaking about thirty years, the film itself itself was set in the past. That's how far away those great moments are.
I love this guy. For what he's done for silent film, but also because he's such a nice guy. I sent him a bunch of letters many years ago with questions, and he answered every time.
Oh, Kevin Brownlow....thank you so much for your contribution and background of your life that led to your career...your unabashed curiousity is exactly what compelled me to recognize silent film as the cultural contribution to the arts it is. As a researcher on the melodramas and silent films, Joseph Arthur's STILL ALARM and BLUE JEANS, you Mr. Brownlow are a bit of a hero to me. If you hadn't made the 'Hollywood' series with the film clip of BLUE JEANS, I'd never have advanced with my research. Finally seeing BLUE JEANS on a hand-wound reeltoreel projector at Eastman House began the second phase of my research. It's delightful to see your interview here. Thank you to Worthing Wow.
He's a hero of mine as well. Met him once, and didn't disappoint. Really good guy. I was more made up than if I'd met a huge film star. He's one of the reasons why I do what I do. HOLLYWOOD started it all.
