once I did a very intimidating 2000 piece puzzle. BUT, I told myself that I will need a week for it (besides work etc.). So it was ok, that it took me a few days, to be exact 4 😊
The 12.99 for the top ups is outrageous. It’s literally cheaper and more efficient to pay for a second Spotify account because at least then you would get 15 hours instead of just 10. It honestly feels predatory. It’s like the knew people would not have enough hours to finish a lot of larger books to the point where you’ll get to the last hour and it cuts you off then they tell you you have to pay this exorbitant rate to just finish the book.
Ahh, this was such a cute idea!! I haven't listened to the whole album, simply because soulful/slow jam Taylor Swift is just not for me, but I Can Do It With a Broken Heart is just so good. <3 I'm going to go and check out that book, as well as the audiobook for Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, because the idea of listening to a messy ass interview sounds incredible for my data entry days at work. Definitely wishing for more upbeat poppy tunes about being sad, though. 😆
Tidesong's cover definitely gave Ponyo vibes, it looks so cute. <3 I don't read a lot of graphic novels anymore, but it always reminds me of my manga days. I love how expressive simple art can be when the artist is skilled. Thanks for giving a little more about the books themselves! Snotgirl is definitely not a subject I expected, which was kinda fun, too. (P.s. You might want to check out the first line of your video desc! Looks like a c&p oopsie.)
1- I had friends who read manga growing up and I cannot believe it took me so long to get into stories in this format! also whenever I pick up more graphic novels, Snotgirl #2 & #3 are at the top of my list! 2- 😂😂 definitely a copy and paste faux pas! thank you!!
I had 1hr left in my book when it shut off. It was so good I would have bought the top off if I could figure how. Im on one wk free trial for premium and will not continue
When ever I'm in a different county than where I have my library cards I try to get a library card there. So now I have 4 different library cards on my Libby account and I can get audio books much quicker.
This video makes me so happy, I love Ally too! She has great book recommendations, I also read as long as the lemon tress grow bc of her. I think for vlogs like this where this is a theme, a big one is good, but in general for normal vlogs I prefer a like 20-25 minute length.
I would say fully that I prefer around the 30-45 minute mark for a video, but that's because I tend to put videos on in the background when I'm doing stuff. I'm impressed by how much reading you got done, though!! I've been slowing down because I made the mistake of starting on a heavier military sci-fi novel and hoo boy... a slog.
I was a barista for like 4 years lol & basically I think what’s happening is you’re letting the shot sit for too long? Like if it sits for more than 10-15 seconds after the shot is done pulling then it gets this gross bitter taste. So try adding the milk + shot together sooner? I hope that helps!!
Stuffed animals give a bit of whimsy to one's home. I have a few and since we will be moving, they are put away for now. Loving the mirror and lamps, very lovely!
I hate the standard 1000 piece Cloudberry puzzles. Almost 100% of the puzzle is two-in, two-out (standard puzzle shape) with very little variation in shape. They also make puzzles with a tight fit. In other words, you end up with so many false fits and you really cannot use shape to put together puzzle. This is especially a problem for their 1000 piece puzzles where you have bigger areas of one color. They have fixed this with their "small batch" puzzles.
I do like deep dives on a whole series. Although those do tend to be harder to find really good videos of since they take a lot of work and skill to get right. But I've also been enjoying more relaxed and casual reading vlogs that I can put on in the background!
My favourite book videos are generally reviews, as well as like, deep dives that are kind of humorous about books I truly will never read. Reads with Rachel and lexi aka newlynova on YT are the other two I generally watch. But I also just like listening to your videos because of your honest opinions on the books you read, too! I think you give a very down to earth summary of your experiences, and your generally sunny disposition is pleasant and cheerful to listen to! I wouldn't mind hearing a little more about the books you read, a quick summary of the plot or if you liked the characters or not, though! <3
Reverie looks so gorgeous, I really want to try them. I love that they're all book themed too! Magic Puzzle Company is one of my favorites, I really want to try the new one. Secret Soup and Mystic Maze have been my favorites that I've done so far. I just did the 1000 piece Cloudberries gradient and it was really fun. And so much faster than I thought! Although the green/yellows took a long time haha. But still not hard.
Oh I love all of these designs! Especially the Soonness ones are calling out to me. If you are ever looking for second hamd puzzles, check out your library's book sale rack, I work at a library and we get puzzle donations all the time!
The cloudberries puzzles with the prettier boxes are their limited edition puzzles and the pieces are random cut (which I love). I have their first 4 and am waiting for the new 4 to come to the puzzle site I use. I agree with you about the magic puzzles, they’re my favorite. Happy puzzlingly!
I love puzzles! We just got a puzzle board a few months ago to store the puzzle in while you work on it and it’s amazing! One of our fav brands is artifact puzzles! So cute and great quality
ooh I'll have to check them out! I've been debating getting a puzzle board but it's not a huge priority right now since I usually finish them pretty quickly and leave them on my coffee table like decor 😂
Ooh, I would like to check out some of these brands !! I have actually never bought any new ones (either buy second hand orrrrr gifts from others), so it’ll be fun to just pick designs I gravitate toward 🫶🏻
love it! I'm trying to limit myself to secondhand only for at least the first half of this year. there are some breweries near me that host speed puzzling competitions and they sell the puzzles that people don't want to take home, so I've gotten great deals that way :D
Have you tried Pintoo yet? I feel like you'd like a bunch of their art- they are plastic pieces with a "snap" that I can't not love!! They come in 300-4k piece size and are broke down into bags- example if you get a 1200 piece it will be 4 bags of 300. It one of my fav features because I can do small portions on my desk and then put them all together in the end!! They work with a ton of diff artists so I feel like the options are there for everyone :)
I can't even wait for you to get your hands on a Reverie- they are about twice as thick as Fred- you'll melt!! Also there is a place in Canada that sells them too- they will have everything in the US but it just seems to go in waves- like they ship in stock- sell out- ship in- sell out. Side note- they release like 6ish new puzzles I think every 3 months? I want to say it's quarterly!
