Great video! I use no case as well, just screen protector. But when I am on holidays I use a case, because in my experience the highest risk of something happening is when you're out of routine...
Ever since i got my first phone back in 2016, I've always used a case. Like you, i was young and didn't really care, so I always had one on. Now, currently, im using the s23fe. When I first got it, again, I bought a spigen caseology case for it and used it like that. Then, a while ago, i thought I'd try it without the case cause it is a beautiful phone, but damn, it was so uncomfortable to hold. The edges kept digging into my hands. Im not sure if I'm the only one with that problem, but I had to put the case back on.
Using a phone case only protects the back glass, and my phone doesn’t even have a back glass. And most cases make the phone bounce and drop the other way which damages the display a bit, So I use a screen protector and no case.
You also always clean your phone because some people have dirty ass phones and cases. And I prefer a case because some cases have a design on it and it's more grip
Exactly......Firstly you will get use to how to hold the phone without case. How much pressure is needed to hold the phone automatically....it's really cool without case.
when i got my iphone 11 .. i put it on the kitchen counter to charge.. it slid down and fell on the hardf stone floor .. first dang in the first 10min of ownership XD .
I removed the case off my iPhone 11 a few weeks ago, and I agree it takes a few days to get used to the fact that there's no case anymore. But the gains are huge: the general experience with the phone (holding, using, the feel in your pants pocket, ...) is wonderful. And as for scratches, even the most expensive cars also get scratches. The question you should ask yourself is: do you worry about scratches because of what others may think, or because of what you yourself may think? For most, if they're honest, I'm sure it's the former. One final observation: how more satisfying must it be to buy a new phone after a few years to replace a clearly well-used (and thus scratched) phone than to replace a phone that still looks brand new because of the case? Grant yourself a good reason to buy a new phone and the satisfaction that goes along with it.
I've always had the doubt of using a case for my phone or not. Now I'm having my Pixel 6a and I really love the design, the feel in hand, it's just awesome. But any case I put just ruins that feel and look. Now seeing your video I'm gonna try my phone without a case for week or two. And I'm gonna comment on my experience after a week! Thanks man.
Guys, as I said I did use my 6a without any case for a week and I gotta say I'm pretty surprised that I did it. The phone in the hand feels so premium and new. The 6a looks so gorgeous. And yeah, at first I was afraid about the scratches or what if I do drop it. But after a day or two I started enjoying the experience. Like it's said in the video, "I'm holding a phone not a case" and I pretty much felt that. I handled it with care and I don't notice any scratches (maybe I don't see or care about them that much). Also I drop my phone not even a single time. So, the result is - I won't be using a case for my phone anymore. I'm just holding my phone and enjoying its design and looks, that's it. Thank you!
@@steeharanBuy an spigen thin fit case for the 6a. It adds minimal bulk to it ,but makes it sooo much grippier and has an slightly lifted edge on the Front to protect the screen. I have the thin fit on all of my phones and love it! You could also take a look at the original Google case for the 6a since its also pretty slim.
Awesome. What you said about holding the phone with the case on and the feeling makes you think it’s not expensive, it’s plastic compared to without a case and holding the phone knowing the worth through how it feels. I got a 14 pro max and I’m going no case as of now. Cheers brah
I had the same experience almost .... i had my phone for 2 years with a case then during covid i took out my case , then when i started going out again i kept it caseless ... in 2 years i never droppes my phone with the case ... then as soon as i removed the case i droppes my phone the first time i went out and it shattered the back glass and my screen protector 😅😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂
I have an iPhone 11, when I go out, I always put my case on but at home I like to take it off. The thing about my case is that it is really hard to take off and on but it is a bit easier to pit on. It feels really nice in hand and if I go out with no case, my mum will yell at me. She is really overprotective of my phone. I don’t mind that though because sometimes I am clumsy and fall and drop things. My idea is to take it off at home and put on when going out and about doing things, and considering I love moving around I like to be a bit careful
Haha yea I would do that for a bit! Just use the case when I went out and take it off at home. But eventually I got tired of switching the case on and off so I just took it off all the time. My mom told me "You better not drop that phone!", and I havn't since.
I do not actually have a new phone yet😂 still rocking the 11. However, I have ordered a 15 pro that hasn't came yet, and I will be rocking it with no case! I like the square edges, both sides have their appeal and to me personally I would prefer the square edges. Reminds me of the iphone 4, and that was such an iconic phone.
Thank you!!! I just never got around to posting another video. I just had the urge to put this one up because it was a question I would find myself answering every other day anyway! But since then my desire to make videos was just never the same, now I'm in college so there isn't much time anyway. I appreciate you saying that though, and maybe someday I will make another video!
@@blakezywicki well I’ll be here when you do man💯you have potential like the way you said stuff it was like perfect it was a solid review like I said I’ll be here waiting for another video ❤️
Haha I get the appeal in some scenarios. Some people do just want to protect the phone, which is fine. Some people use the case as an expression of style. So theres a couple reason to use a case, but none of which were convincing enough for me!
Same experience. I’ve gone case-less for a while now and a few weeks ago with it being summer and being outside more, I decided to put a case on my phone. In those two weeks I’ve dropped my phone twice. Took my case off again and I’ve not dropped it since. I do have Apple Care + so glass replacement is like $29 and express replacement is $99. That’s about what the cost of a MagSafe case and screen protector would run. I choose to go case-less and in the rare event I break the glass, I’ll order an express replacement for $99 and have a replacement shipped to my door.
Yea its a so weird I used to drop my phone all the time when I had a big bulky case on it, but after I took the case off its like I just became more aware and stopped dropping it all together!
Hi from Sénégal i hardly ever use a case just once in a while when i get really busy outdoors.... Cases trap so much heat n its actually bad for any phone😊...
Wow! From Senegal thats crazy! Yea I think that just using a case situationally is fine. I won't even use one when I'm going outdoors, maybe a little silly, but so far its been fine!
@@blakezywicki yes that’s right. Awesome cuz really cases are actually really bad for phones as trapping heat will actually destroy it. I doubt in the future anyone will be using cases 😂
First iphone in 2011, iphone 4s. Never used a case and screen protector, never dropped it. And i did that with every new iphone. Now rocking the iphone 11 for almost 4 years. No case, no screen protector. Never dropped it once. I just trust myself, i'm not clumpsy. Tbh since the first iphone i purchased, i never thought of a case or screen protector. It just never came to my mind. Yes, the phone has scratches and all, but idc about that. You will eventually get them.
LOVE THIS! Thats the mindset I wish I had since I first had a phone, because I don't think I'm too clumsy of a person, so a case is just not needed. And yea I would rather look at a couple tiny scratches than a plastic or rubber case around the phone!
I've decided to go case-less with my z flip 4, and boy, am I enjoying it. The only time that I would definitely need to put a case on is when i go out camping. There's trees, rocks, waterfalls, etc. This is where you'll need the protection of a phone case. Basically, I pay attention to where I'm going to go and then decide to use a case or not.
Exactly!! That's all you need to do. For everyday tasks like going to work/school you don't need a case. Chances of dropping your phone in those scenarios are next to none if you put a conscious effort into keeping it safe.
I don't mean to say you're wrong, it may make sense for some people to not use their case given their specific circumstances, but I must say, I've had very different experience than you 😅 I've had phones both with and without a case and I can safely say that I've been dropping the phone more when the case of off. I feel like the aluminium or fancy plastic is just more slippery, the phone is smaller so it's a bit more finicky to handle properly with my hands. Also, I've never had a screen crack with a case on, like, ever. The only times it got scratches was from when I had in my pocket. These days, most people around me who don't use a case have constantly cracked screens, while I've been fine for over a decade, with multiple phones. One think to mention is though I've never had my screen crack with a case, I did have my glass screen protector crack. That naturally didn't happen when I was using a film, so I'm inclined to believe that if you're set on using a case, it's better to match with a film screen protector, which is both cheaper and isn't as intrusive.
Yea everyone has different experiences with this. I can only speak from my point of view, but I used a case for years, and once I took it off my mindset completely changed with how I took care of my phone. While physically yes the naked phone is more slippery and easier to drop, the mindset change for me counteracted that even more and, atleast for me, I have'nt dropped my phone nearly as much since I took my case off.

Idk mane. I got 3 40 dollar cases. I bought iPhone 14 pro. N I just feel like I don’t wanna damage it by not having a case on it. It looks better and feels better without it. But it just cost too much for me not to protect it
Yea thats the only downside here. Even the most careful person can't avoid the tiny scratches and dents that collet after months or years of daily use.

I carry my phone in my pocket. Even the thinnest of cases make a huge difference in bulk and makes it annoying to pull in and out of my pocket. Plus I like the premium feel of a naked phone, and want to actually enjoy it before I upgrade to the next one. However I have noticed whenever I have to hand my phone to someone that uses a case, they’re so afraid to hold/grip the phone properly that they look like they’re going to drop it. I don’t understand why going case-less makes them so anxious. Just use common sense and be careful.
Lol! Yes that is exactly how I think about it. Like even a tiny case still feels SOOO much bulkier than the naked phone. And yes I see that all the time when I hand my phone to other people. They'll handle it so gently and delicately it makes me nervous!
I think it's great that you don't use a case or screen protector but I don't like my phone getting scratches and dents. Looking like crap so I use a screen protector and case not always because I'm clumsy but it's like having insurance. Better safe than sorry!
Great insight, love it!!! So true. Used to use a case and treat phone like a toy but now with my new phone every time i handle my 14pro it still gives me this magic feeling that this is an incredible high end creation...like driving a Ferrari or something... so that sensory tactile appreciation/ awareness means I hold my device with intention, presence and connection..
Exactly yes!! It's just such a different mindset you have without a case. Like you know if you dropped it it would break so you start treating it with more care.
I have an I Phone 13 and I love how my phone feels without a case on it. I liked your video, you gave some good tips on how to keep your phone safe without a case on it. Thank you 😊.
