Thank you so much! I used seed beads for the netting and goldwork bullion thread for the sun rays! If you want to know more about it @amazoniancosplay has a great video on goldwork!

For winter dresses my preference is for a fully lined bodice ... warmer and the facing always stays in place. I do this by cutting the entire bodice out in the lining , for corduroy I would use a smooth fabric lining .

I'm going to go make some of these now. I think I might try making summery ones, though wintery thick plaid ones would also be great.

Having done some natural dyeing, I’ve learned that it’s so important to properly mordant your fabric. For cotton, you need alum acetate. Silks almost always produce a more saturated color, use alum mordant on silk and wool. Also, you need a specific amount of mordant for how much fabric. It’s a percentage of the WOF (weight of fiber). Done properly, you can achieve beautiful results! And colors can be shifted after dyeing. I shifted red cabbage fabrics to teal as well as a nice purple using vinegar bath for one, baking soda bath for the other. There is so much on the internet, if you decide this is something you want to explore more . Have fun!

Hi! The fabric I was using was actually mordanted with alum already! I've also experimented with other types of mordant like soda ash. I just didn't include it in the video cause it was sort of boring visually! Have a good one!

These patterns often can be found for free on the internet archive online. I almost fell victim to paying someone from Etsy for one too.

Просто нужно было ткань предварительно вымачивать в соевом молоке или в чем то там еще я тоже, как и ты, не знаю точный рецепт

Hello! I discuss how I pattern the basic beret more in my Autumn berets video and I would just add extra pieces of felt on top for syrup and butter! Hope that’s helpful!

Is there a reason you pull up the roots? I'm in the UK and have always cut the leaves which means the plant can keep growing. Is it invasive to Michigan?
@CaitlinAnderson
@CaitlinAnderson Год назад
Hi! I pulled them up for taste mostly! I used them sort of like cloves of garlic. They were on my family's property and I was the first one to harvest them maybe ever honestly. It grows extremely prevalently in that area and I pulled them up very spread out and only in super thick patches to ensure that the ecosystem was not affected and there's plenty of them for next year! In areas with more than just a single person foraging and fewer plants present, I would've just taken the leaves!
@missmegany
@missmegany Год назад
@@CaitlinAnderson ahhh! Somehow I didn't expect the roots to be like garlic too. (Duh!) Thanks! I love using wild garlic. This year we chopped it fine and froze it in Tablespoon size chunks and my husband also did a big kilner jar of lacto-ferment to preserve it.

This is amazing!! Samantha was my absolute favorite. I loved everything about her era plus I looked just like her, bangs and all. As a girl in the late 80s, there were only the 3 historical dolls in the catalog. I begged for Samantha but only got her books. When I told my husband the story, he surprised me with Samantha for Christmas one year. Now my two daughters are into AG so of course we had to get them original pleasant company Kirsten and Felicity. We’ve started collecting their outfits and I’ve thought about putting together outfits inspired by their collections. Your dress is next level! When I was a kid, you could order outfits to match your doll. It was amazing. Wish AG still did this.
