This is my first time watching this run. As of 2024, this category runs such a different route, and the game has been pushed so much further. But this run being as amazing as it is to watch is a testament to a variety of things. 1. How amazing and revolutionary Hotarubi has been to Super Metroid speedrunning. 2. How amazing this game truly is. 3. How speedrunning in general is a net positive. Now, a couple awesome things I saw that really blew me away were all in East Maridia. The Grav jump up to get Full Halfie. I've *NEVER* seen that! Just the traditional quick wall jumps up that room for the setup. That Grav jump was just pure swag. Second was the shinespark into Space Jump item. That's just showing off! Thank you again for all you've done, and everyone you inspired. Sincerely.
This game is so amazing. The magic system is definitely unique, and I really how it works in practice. Also, the visuals are beautiful. So many different visual effects, it really shines. Though, I was hoping the elemental barriers would be included in this video, too 😅 My favourite effect is on 10:38. Never fails to make me smile.
