The only chord that needs a LOT of work is at 1:43, the Gb major. Now, they've already shown they can play it better in tune (though still not perfect) at 1:06. We need to investigate the PRIOR chord in each circumstance. In the 1:06 instance they're coming from a Bb minor chord, which settles in nicely by raising the minor 3rd (the Db). This Db becomes the 5th of the Gb major chord, AND THEY NEED TO LEAVE IT UP THERE! This is where the magic will happen at 1:43: When going from Bb MAJOR, to Gb MAJOR, the Bb is the COMMON TONE, so LEAVE IT ALONE, and raise the Gb (probably sharp anyway in Bb instruments) and raise the Db!! (as if it were a minor chord). Leave the Bb alone! Thus, instead of the age-hold "ho-hum, ya got the 3rd of the chord (Bb in the Gb major), so get it down," strive to RAISE the Gb and Db, thus keeping the common tone Bb COMMON! (You can hear the mellos seriously blowing the concert Bb flat on the Gb major chord...instead, let them sustain it at pitch, and move everyone else up! PS: Bari/Euph/Trp should play Db with 23V) Another problem between 1:06 and 1:43: The tubas are playing middle Gb at 1:06 and Low Gb at 1:43. The low one is not settling at all. If BC is not into my temperament suggestion, at least they should start with tubas on middle Gb at 1:43.
I was just going to say that! At Lynn show they blew me away. Both tone quality and timing / tonguing were much improved over the park standstill. Amazing what a week does and getting on the road!
The Blue Knights piss me off. Such a good core, top 3 contenders that just creates dogass shows, the Crown is the biggest culprit of this. Repertiore choices always so good then make the theme and visuals something trash, BC and BD will dance on their graves till they stop doing dumb stuff. After 2015 Blue Knights shouldve been headed for greatness, not even in the top 12 this year... yikes. The Crown and BK are too busy trying to innovate and look cool and not simply focusing on making a good show, BD this year had nothing innovative and killed them.
2019 was an awesome show but quite a few key pieces that contributed to 2019's success (Jay Bocook, Kevin Shah, MJ) left prior to the 2022 season. We as a membership expected 2022 to be at the very least a top 10 scoring corps but the design just really let us down. Regardless, the corps culture was great and I had a pretty good time. I'm interested as to what next summer holds for BK with an entirely new design and educational team.
I haven't done anything to do with music for a couple of years now. Around noon I started to clean my garage and found my old HS music sheets and start reminiscing. It's only been a few hours and the algorithm gives me this.
@@CamdenBoggio I’ll be honest. It isn’t really much more accurate than the last person’s, but it does sound very pleasing to the ear. I would love if The Blue Devils played this version instead of the one on finals night.
