The design of graphics is done in photoshop. Then I take those layers into GT Designer to add the functionality. So in short, either version comes with GT Designer.
I work in collegiate esports production and this is crazy. I didn't know you could even do this. The picture file location blew my mind. Thanks for the video!
Hey Man... Any chance you'd be willing to share or even sell a copy of this sheet? Id love to use it as a baseline for our High School Streaming Program.
this is great we just got vmix and it will be replacing our production truck in the future. Do you by any chance have a sample of the google sheets available.
This is awesome. I use data sources for text and scores from excel but I haven't been able to bring in images. I have an excel file with drop down and images assigned to cells but I do not know how to put an image in GT Title designer that can be driven by the data source like your helmet images change. How do you put that image in GT Title Designer and have the images replaced by the data source. Thank You very much for an interesting video!!!
This is amazing! I have a couple sheets set up that utilize some of these elements, but I hadnt thought about linking some of the graphical elements to premade graphics that I have on my local machine. Out of curiosity, have you ever toyed around with any sort of scripting from that dakstats to link stats to graphics? Right now I am trying to figure out a way to link my time out lines that I have saved as graphics to the TO Left that is coming to me data wise from our scorebridge software. For instance when it says the away team has 4 TO left, all four of my to lines show, but when they take a time out and it updates to only three TO left one of the lines goes away.
I don't do any scripting.... but off the top of my head, what I might do... My TO graphic is simply dashes from a font. Import the dakstat info into the spreadsheet using html import function. Have what ever cell has the TO reference another tab in your gdoc. Use an IF formula to say something like if cell = 2, then "- -"... then simply refence that cell as a data source. Because you are using actual font dashes, it pulls into the title as text. Anytime dakstat updates, if you write the formula to include each option and outcome, the cell reference will update with the appropriate amount of dashes
This is such a great idea. I have so many keyboards lying around I never thought about using them for overlays. I also am trying to use Touch Portal with Vmix
I created a custom keyboard for each sport and just swap out depending on the event. Also, I found 1/2" printer labels worked well. With a little planning, I found neon colors helped me group like short cuts. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08M9DN679/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
This is impressive and so clever! But I def need a sample template to analyze properly {Google sheet, GT Designer files, etc..). Thanks for sharing the idea though!
Thank you for sharing this. When I was a reporter, I covered this show each year it came to my city. Recordings of these productions are hard to find because at the beginning of each show they always stated "the use of cameras and video equipment is strictly prohibited" and it was something that was enforced.
Hi, I'm Brazilian and I have the Touch Portal Pro app, I downloaded the plugin for vMix and I couldn't work any control function. How did you set it up? Can I make an example video or is there a tutorial? Thank you very much.
Hey Johnny, I am not using the vMix plugin... so I am not familiar with it. This is simply the standard app. It is basically another input device like your keyboard
Love it! How reliable has your tablet connection been during events? Does it ever lag to catch up? Also, can you map those buttons from touch portal to a midi controller, instead of your keyboard? IE map an elgato stream deck as your buttons? Could be a decent hardware backup in case the wifi lags for a second to catch up...
Have had no issue with wifi. I do have a dedicated hub for streaming. I have used two different tablets and one cellphone. Only had a lag issue once and that turned out to be the older tablet issue. As for midi notes; there may be a plug-in, but I am unaware of any midi note capability at this time. It's really designed as a key and macro extension for input. With that said, there are 24 function keys, every keyboard key, and you can do key combinations (ctrl+1)...
Good evening. You should market the Google sheet - that way I can buy it and don't have to create it. LOL. I like your method sooooo much more than the way I've been doing it. I've been creating a new scorebug in GT Title Designer for each game. Takes far too long and if I have a busy week, it doesn't always get done. I love the method of choosing from a dropdown to change the graphics.
