So sorry to hear about your dad i lost mind one year ago, the hardest thing i ever went thru and its still hard. Just take things one day at a time, make sure you eat and get sleep.
Just my opinion.. when your vehicle regardless of year make and model needs a new transmission don’t go stock. Find a reputable transmission shop and have it built. Transmissions are the weak link in every auto even the best most reliable ones. Even if you only plan on keeping it for a few years.. the extra money is well worth the reliability and peace of mind
Hey did u post those on marketplace I seen a couple and I've told u I'm West Cleveland area and a collector picking up a mtx blue thunder 150x2 early 2000 era for $40 and paid $20 for my 75x2 same year, sorry bout ur dad my bosses dad past yesterday and I know how u feel my dad died in front of me was I was 12 in 1996, would be cool to see ur shop and collection or make a video together cuz my channel isnt as popular😂
@SparkedEd- My condolences for your loss❤ I prayed for you, & your situation to improve. Things are going to pick up for you, really soon. May God bless you, with ❤️, & prosperity!
I had a first gen mini cooper s I had to sink a lot of money into… finally got rid of it. Apparently I fixed the majority of the problems because I still see it driving around locally and I sold it 3 years ago. I also have a cobalt ss sitting outside my shop. Been there for a few years now. Just don’t have the drive to put the money into it knowing it will likely need half a dozen other things when I got it going 🤦🏻♂️ cars are pain man
as for the cooper, there's a good chance that you have a defective head gasket, or a burnt intake valve bypassing raw fuel, can you have an OBD scan it?
could've been the mechanic, did you replace the throw-out bearing? these devises also have bearings and they do go bad, life expectancy is about as long as a clutch, you may be lied to by that mechanic
Man i really want one of these. I didn't have a great job when these were available and couldnt get one, and when i got a better job, they were never available again. If you come out with them again i bet they would be a hot item with shows and competitions getting big. Maybe work with D4S to help out on the cost. JP seems to like introducing new products. Edit: definitely like your ideas, and if you put them out again ill definitely be picking them up for all my builds
Rather than selling them why dont you just do a go fund me ??... id much prefer you keep the subs and see you put them in the car... least you deserve after the loss of your father and the car trouble... im sure others would agree
@SparkEd prayers for you & your loved ones during your loss! You've always seemed like a humble fella to me, keep that head up, you are a very intelligent guy! Unfortunately I'm not in a position to fix your car issues at the moment or do anything that would help fix things BUT I am thinking that surely some fellow bassheads or audio enthusiasts would be willing to chip in on whatever needed so you would not have to sell your CV Strokers or anything else you have in your collection. Idk you just seem genuine & I do not see that often in this 21st Century anymore. Afterall bassheads are supposed to be a family, each person could chip in what they are able until a specific monetary # is reached & if some wanted it could be agreed that you would pay some back once things steady out for you. Which I'm thinking many bassheads would not even want anything back. *Hey its just an idea from my end. I can very much relate to your current situation so I have empathy with what you are dealing with.
Sorry for your loss bro ...just curious, was there not any honda or toyota you coudlve bought instead knowing that you needed a reliable daily commuter car?
Thanks. I was looking for Hondas and Toyotas first. Went to look at 3 or 4. Called the dealer to schedule a test drive, when I got there, it had already sold and the dealer lied. Time was ticking for my dad so I needed what I could find.
@@SparkedEd aw man I'm sorry. It must've been too much for you at the time. Again, I hope all is well for you brother. Things will look up. Hang in there 💪🏾
Richard Clark, I haven't heard that name in a long time! I remember the Grand National with the 2 Waveguides under the dash, 2 12" mids in the rear seat quarters and the sub box with the servo controlled moving wall. Man knew how to think outside the box!
You’re a smart guy so I thought I’d ask you a question. How do you repair a loose shorting ring? I have a sub that has a terrible rattle to it but it’s not blown. I was told it was possible that the shorting ring came loose & now I don’t know what to do with the speaker. What should I do with it?
@@SparkedEd ok. Thanks. It’s a sundown x 15 v2. I hate to tear apart a beautiful, looking subwoofer and do a recone on it especially since I have never done a recon before and a recone kit is over $100. At this point, it’s just gonna sit on the shelf in my garage until eternity. I tried to get in touch with sundown and they said that there’s a special tool needed to fix that. Then they told me to email a couple of different people, but they never got back to me so I’m kind of stuck.
@@420dportkid Xs don't have shorting rings. There is a plastic spacer between the basket and motor, but you can see that from the outside. If you hear a rattle, there may be another issue
@@SparkedEd wow! Thanks for the info. Yeah. It sounds like a metallic rattle most noticeable in the higher frequencies. Bryan chamberlain from sundown audio told me that that’s probably what it was. Sounds like the shorting ring has come loose! they can be repaired but we don't repair them in house. Anyway, thanks ED. Everything will work out for you. I’m sure of it. Everything always does. Just take it one day at a time.. I think you should really buy a used Camry or Corolla.
@420dportkid Hmm, maybe they do have a shorting ring. I don't recall seeing one on the one Andy reconed here. Yeah I was originally looking for a Yaris or Corolla. Maybe Honda too. Gonna eventually sell the Mini for something like that
All new cars are trash.. learn how to work on cars may be in you best interest. Older cars are easier. Minis are not known to be reliable either bro. Good luck out there
OMG! So so sorry for your loss my brother. I been not on the internet in a while. Going through my own demons. Just hoped on because I seen your notification about you selling your strokers. And I couldn't nor wouldn't miss this video. Didn't expect to hear about your pops though brother. Much love and respect from P.a.
That spider does not "push air" so isn't it wasted area in the center of the cone? I never understood this! It looks cool, but cone area is decreased! 👀👀🤷♀🤷♀
Man Ed i feel for you, but you might be the guy that makes the worst choices…Mini Coopers are crap really crap…You’re better off junking that car and buy something Japanese..Mazda, Toyota, Honda anything else but Mini coopers those engines die all the time..They are not worth the money.
A 2005 or 2006 r53 mini Cooper is probably one of the better cars on the road. Reliability is completely high It is a track car and is made to disassemble and assemble on the side of the road. The engines are extremely reliable and easy to work on. They're single overhead cam make them really easy to work on again and plenty of power. I'm working on an r53 motor right now planning on pushing about 350 horsepower to the wheel. 1.6 l engine that is a massive workhorse. I will agree with you wholeheartedly that anything other than the 2005 2006 r53 or r50 mini Cooper are complete crap. I don't think anything after the first generation should be called a Cooper at all. As soon as the Fiat motor went in reliability went downhill and gave them all a bad reputation. Grab I shouldn't even be saying this because I buy them all the time but grab the late model r53's and you will not be disappointed I promise.
@@daysend1341 Yeah from personal experience i can tell you Mini coopers are crap..maybe you got lucky once, but they all are crap..Just look online and you’ll find exactly what i am saying, they’re all crap..I’ve witnessed dozens with broken timing chains and all sorts of other problems..
