We are not aware of any Enphase microinverter working entirely off-the grid. support.enphase.com/s/article/when-will-my-enphase-energy-system-go-off-grid
Is the optional Energy Meter the only way to limit injection to the grid ? What about your "SMA Power Limiter", can it be used instead ? Despite it’s name it seems to me it can’t. It needs a special signal from the grid operator or am I wrong ?
Can you use solar panel optimisers in offgrid system? I have 4kw panels feeding 24v into Victron 150/100 mppt, into AGM battery bank then into 3000w low frequency inverter. I have a mix of different panels and want to stop the lowest producing panel drag down the rest of array with it. Cheers
Great video, even though I am not installing, it helps me to understand what the installer will go through and how I can quality check the installation upon completion
Great video and I discovered a feature I didn't know about. I would like to know if it is possible to set this solis to work even in the absence of electricity. Thank you
So should solax inverters be installed on non flammable materials only? That's what the disclaimer said at the start and then your video is all onto ply!?
Great video. An alternative cable entry option in your scenario is to drill a 15mm hole in your brick wall to accommodate a short length of 15mm plastic conduit. This conduit will then fit into a single stuffing gland [size 25mm for round cable which in this case will be the 15mm plastic conduit], maintaining the IP rating and also giving mechanical protection to the twin and earth cable in the wall. Both the T&E and the CT clamp cable can then enter the Zappi through the conduit without the need for the second stuffing gland and avoiding the CT cable routing beneath the Zappi.
Is this across three phases? Lowered mine due to a grid impedance fault tripping the Zappi on what it calls “contactor fault”, but I suspect is a low voltage trip.
If Solax has an inbuilt changeover switch, why are you installing an external one on top? Any reasons? And do you create a new earthing MEP via a new ROD ? ( was told we cannot use the existing earthing point)?? Thanks
