TASbot never ceases to amaze me. i dont know if its his blatant disregard for video game laws of physics or the fact that every once in awhile he stops and does a little dance at certain points to show off the swag hes got in his steps.
I think this was a split video edit. One minute he isn't collecting anything beyond the bare minimum to get to ridley's area but now all of a sudden he has over a hundred missiles 30 super and 10 power bombs and somehow magically collected 6 tanks all while we weren't looking. This wasn't a TAS, this was a video edit of 2 separate runs...
Everything seemed normal until he clipped through the yellow door to Ridley’s lair Like how did he instantly get most of the upgrades as soon as he entered the gold torizo room? 😈
How they heck do you play like this? All those jumps, going through walls and crap? How? Are you that good or what is the tool assisted thing? You wall jump and get through rooms instantly and kill everything instantly. How? Please, I want to play like a master like this....
Just wow! I dock you a point for not saving the critters tho. Thanks for that, really amazing. Being one of my favorite games it was a emotional roller coaster for me. Never knew "screw ball" was a thing, guess it's really shine ball! The shine x-ray thing makes it all so sinister when it starts!
Lmao i sat there a couple times going "why wouldnt you grab that!? Its right there!" Until you started doing the work before getting to lower norfair and i realized this was NOT a normal run 😂 its been awhile since ive watched any super metroid speedruns and seeing you suddenly breaking the game, having a bunch of energy tanks etc - my mouth dropped 😂 this was really fun to watch. Great job!
Super Metroid is one of my favorite games of all time. I spent countless hours on it as a kid and have a lot of fond memories of it. I’ll pick it up every now and again and it’s a game I really like to savor while playing. That being said, this run was nothing short of mesmerizing. Seeing all the stuff that can be done with a game that’s been around for so long is really wild. Your memorization of the map is very impressive, your reflexes and muscle memory are top notch, and this definitely took a lot of hard work and dedication to nail (whether it was time spent in this game or others). You should feel very proud of being able to pull off something most people definitely can’t do. You took a game I spent so much time in and broke and abused it in ways I would have never thought possible and I loved every minute of it. My hat is off to you.
2 things i wish they would explained about Super Metroid: 1) why did Samus not have all the powers/abilities from the earlier games after referencing them 2) how did Kraid and Ridley come back to life
Golden Torizo code. If the Golden Torizo is alive and you hold abxy during either door transition into its room, the game sets Samus's equipment to 700 energy, 100 missiles, 20 super missiles, 20 power bombs, and every major item in the game(except screw attack).
