it's so weird watching this now as a current student here and seeing what you guys accomplished. I love this class and love ya domack for giving the opportunity to do tech and see what kind of crazy shit we can come up with
I would have loved to have this class at school but unfortunately, I didn't get to put my foot into theater tech until college as my high school never had a theater or put on shows, but even at college my drama club was using multipurpose spaces so not really any sets to construct just mainly sound and lighting however doing grad school overseas changed all that and reaffirmed that this is what I want to do with my life, I finally found my people and career id be happy doing. Its so wonderful to see the dedication students put into this class and staying after hours to work on things, I hope that this inspires so many new students into the wonderful world of technical theater
This teachers is so awesome. I wish I had such a teacher when I did tech for my school. Me and the rest of the group just had to figure everything out ourself.
I run a Tech crew for a small charter school and the most students I've ever had on the crew at 1 time was 15. I can't even imagine what it would be like to have 40 students. fun video, well done everyone
Beautiful. I'm 54 n a rookie Stage Manager learning as fast as I can. I love it!! Being a soldier and a firefighter has prepared me for this challenge... Wish I would've started back in highschool, but it's never too late!
I'm teaching Tech Theatre for the first time this year, and I'm going to start the year out with this video! Fantastic message! for my future Techies!!
I’m my drama club’s President and I love both acting and doing tech, so I definitely have made sure that both aspects are appreciated as much as possible this year.
Sooo cute! Well hello to all of you from Russia, and best of luck in the profession - hope some of the people actually found their way into professional theater!
I wish my school had enough money to have a decent tech crew. Anyways I really like this, like it gives tech a lot of props. I can say I did it before and it's super. Fun like wish people knew more about this
In that case, pat yourself on the back, congratulate yourself, & prepare yourself for an exciting & rewarding career in theatre. I work in a professional theatre/opera company as stage manager/prop mistress/carpenter/painter/problem solver/etc & find myself short handed AND short funded ALL of the time. Which means I put 100%+ of myself into what I do. And it shows when the performance goes off without a hitch. I get to see what I can do! And that pride (and the skills developed) is worth more than the pay check. Imagine the places you will go with all that you are learning!
Ok, it was hard to tell but we’re the clips you showed from a production of Mary Poppins? Cause we just did that last spring, and if it is, *major* hats off to all of you, that’s a massive show, at least in terms of set and props. I know how rough it was for us, especially our last two weeks before opening (we love hell week) so I feeeeel.
