I noticed this as well I don't think I've heard him do this exact growl since. He does do a really sick one on Three Nil live in 2004 but it doesn't sound as thick.

Yeah around this time he'd do backing vocals on Get Inside and Inhale since he did it on the self-titled too and then he would do it on The Travelers Pt. 2 and Last Of The Real off of House Of Gold & Bones Pt. 1 before he left the band in 2014.
