Where can we find the ASD Unlocking Language program? Is that just a book or a similar online program like ASD Reading? In the video Dr.Marion Blank mentions that this program is available on ASD Reading website but I was not able to find it on this website. The book is also not available anywhere.
My son is in K just started 2 weeks ago but I been teaching him b4 K12 he got 416 is that good or bad he can’t read so had to just guess those answers I wasn’t allowed to help

The gifted program is a huge scam and it should be removed. I scored high on the CAT test when I was in grade 4 and I thought I was in the gifted program. Later I found out that there were numerous parents in my grade whose children did NOT score high enough on the CAT test and they were given special treatment due to their parents complaining. I was then brought in for "special" testing where a rude woman was trying to convince herself that I was not gifted. Apparently only a certain amount of kids from each school are allowed. What I recall from the secondary testing: I had to do it during my lunch recess.. obviously I was in a bad mood since I saw this as an unfair detention. The testing lady who was rather rude asked me: who is Christopher Colobus? My answer was: the director of Harry Potter (The first movie just came out in theatres and I remembered the credits). My answer is 100% correct. She laughed in my face and condescended me, I will never forget it. How the hell was I supposed to know about American history when I was in grade 4 and never taught it? How is that a test of someone's gifted brain? Sounds like a scam to get me out and get the un-gifted students in unfairly. Where am I now? I went to UofT for Engineering, I am an established P.Eng in industry and I was clearly gifted. Half of the people that were in the gifted program instead of me never perused academics and never exhibited any intelligence or creativity to me while in elementary school. Gifted should be removed or it should be an option for all students.\

In 1st and 2nd grade, I took the GATE test. I dont really remember as much but I think they didnt tell me to take the test seriously. Now im stuck in a hellhole where im expected to sit and watch and instructor tell me things.
Thank you for making this video! My oldest child is gifted and now one of my other kids was just nominated to be tested by her teacher. Being able to watch videos like this before the test, helps so much with my kids’ anxiety. Thanks again!
Whether or not you deem weird a compliment, there are much better descriptors to use for the Autistic community. To me, this alone screams a lack of understanding, awareness and professionalism. Once I heard the "therapist" use this term, all her information lost any weight and credibility, and I tuned right out. To be honest, a lot of her stories of teasing clients, etc. were pretty off putting. I usually never comment negatively, and instead just choose to keep it moving, but this sparked something. I send positive thoughts that she treats all her clients much better than the impression this video gave off. Much love.
to say that kids with autism are "weird" is disgusting, unprofessional, and its plan discrimination!! How dare u say something so hurtful!! My son is Unique and definitely not weird!! And I say that for all kids on the spectrum not just minee!!
