Hi petrolheads! Welcome to Mr Autobahn, the international car review channel with a certain german twist. If you like the newest, the coolest, the fastest cars on german roads without speed limit, you are at the right place!
Enjoyed your test launch of this new little beastie, unfortunately in Canada 40 kmh over the limit is tow and seizure time, I would love to have the next mk 8.5 r with some freaking hand knobs and controls. This unit makes me think baby brother cayman
Nice one mate. I love my 2020 Mk3.5 Grey RS Wagon. Plenty fast enough for Aussie roads with our 100 kph speed limits and the high number of speed cameras. Practical and fast enough, good interior. Once the warranty runs out, Stage 2 tune time!
Until a middle cost german car is very much better than most of American Cars. American people need to learn how to build good cars and not that horrible giants things like F serie, Subarban etc.
Why don't we have an Autobahn in the U.S.? Because of candy-@$$ed, panty-waisted, control-freak, power-hungry, democrat party snowflakes... that's why! :-P
Just changed the wife GTI Mk7.5 to this new R and it's amazing just how much more refined it is, road noise it greatly reduced and the way it tackles corners is super impressive. I would agree with most the the quality of the dash and door materials have taking a dive but things that have improved is the quality and comfort of the seats. One thing I do absolutely hate though is the lane assist that always automatically turns on every single time you start the car, but apart from that it's an exceptional machine.
Indicated 286kph/177mph from a Golf you can buy straight of the production line. The Porsche 997 Carrera S has almost identical performance figures. Wow, how time has improved things! If only the interior wasn’t so truly awful.
