Hi, very interesting video. I am seriously considering buying an MG Cyberster once when they are available in the EU coming summer - or a bit later. Two small questions but essential to me: (1) with the strongest regen braking setting, can you drive one-pedal drive? Or in other words, can you come to a complete stop just with regen braking? (of course if one needs to stop quickly one needs to use the physical brakes anyway, I understand) , (2) can you play in the car music from a USB drive (stick or SSD) or memory card? Oh, and if you are going to make - and publish here on YT - more videos about your beautful Cyberster, please, please, please shoot in landscape and not in this terrible portrait mode - thank you sincery in advance.

Thanks for the update. Do you hear the electric motor while accelerating? I test drove the MG4 which is actually a similar platform and I could hear the electric motor. On my Tesla I do not hear the motor at all. For the left and right screens do you use the joy stick type control on the steering wheel or do you use them as touch screens? You seem content and express the car is "ok" but not overwhelmingly enthusiastic. Or is that just your style. 😁But appreciate your bringing us your 1st hand experience. Many of us are envious!

Hi there from GB, all we have been told so far is that there is a slight delay and it could possibly be Septemberish before we see any. Hope you might do another update video soon and I would like to know how you are getting on with your car, by the way you was questioning on what the drive style is like and most have said it’s more akin to a Gran Tourer than an out and out sports car.

I will do further updates as the weather gets better, as an additional comment recently I have been using the MG on longer trips ~ 90k there I found energy consumption about 15 kWh/100 close to stated that was in a down poor, its closer to a cruiser the 4WD version will be very quick!

Lifetime warranty is a nice thing, even so we like will not get that in Europe. However, I guess the more important part to it, especially after seeing the Tesla experience, the actual availability of spare parts. The Cyberster is supposed to be a halo car, not that much volume in sales, which makes spare parts situation rather delicate, especially overseas, isn't it? Given there might be no first hand experiences yet, but what is your feeling about it?
@yulusleonard985

Lol 10 years from now batteries will be cheap. I live in Indonesia and all SAIC product after Wuling Binguo with LFP get this kind of promotion.
@garyhooper2728
@garyhooper2728 4 месяца назад
Hi I don't see any issues with the driveline, batteries etc. as this is high volume MG4 or out of the other SAIC EV platforms, certainly body parts, screens, hood, I could imagine some delays, as a comment we also have a Tesla so far no delays in parts maybe as manufacture is also here in China

Word of advice from someone with 15yrs in the industry, sell your EVs now. The markets about to crash, Gov subsidies pulled out... Ford has announced its withholding 5b in future EV development because demand for EVs is crashing as we type...

Hi its very different here in China, NEV''s will grow to 60% of the market either by 2030 - pragmatic or 2025/2026 - optimistic, I have been 50 years in the industry, my background is ICE design and development - Ford/Nissan/AVL, the infrastructure is all set up here including homes - apartment/villa - there are almost zero homes close to streets unlike US/EU I am sorry to say its the future - ICE will exist but reduced, yes incentive's are reduced, license plate rules changing (Shanghai/Beijing/Shenzhen) do influence the purchasing from current sales and forecast its not changed the move to NEV - China market for US/EU its different

@@garyhooper2728 Hi Gary, same here in Thailand with regards a comprehensive rollout plan for BEVs. Supported heavily by the Chinese makers input it's very evident the momentum in EV adoption is strong and will proceed with sales and infrastructure etc. BYD has established initially 100 very professional sales and service showrooms with a goal of 200 outlets by 2024 end and another 100 to total 300 when fully complete. Of course GWM, SAIC, and half dozen others doing the same. The wealthy influential families and the huge Thai conglomerates are all investing heavily (and these are quite smart and accomplished business folks) I'm a hugely satisfied Tesla owner and waiting on the Cyberster. The world is not America. What Ford does or any other legacy US manufacturer does with regards USA EV hicuups, has little bearing on this geography. Thailand, 75,000 BEVs sold in 2023 and could see those numbers double in 2024. Not big by Chinese metrics but a good example of the impressive EVs being designed and built in China and that transferred to other markets. Those cars are now slated to be assembled in Thailand with massive investment in the supply chain as well. The transition to BEV in Thailand (and SE Asia) is simply stronger than the environment in USA. The US is probably right in erecting barriers to Chinese BEV makers. If not China will finish the job the Japanese started in the 70's and do serious damage to the US car industry further. But that's another story. Thailand appears in lock step with China on its movement toward BEV adoption. Cheers,

How much does the steering block the screens? And have you used Apple Car Play / Android Auto, if so, which screen does that occupy? The right screen seems quite small as a display if it's just that one.

Hi, Congrats on your Cyberster delivery. 🎉 I'm an expat living in Thailand for over 30 years and also recently retired. My wife and I placed an order for the Cyberster in December at the Bangkok Motorshow. (I also have a Tesla model 3 dual motor). 👍 The Cyberster launch in Thailand is initially limited to solely the dual motor Model. The estimated delivery is projected for "mid-summer" which I understand is what is being communicated to most export target release markets such as UK too. The price in Thailand while not precisely confirmed is targeting 2.5 million baht or about 71,000 USD 🤑 at today's exchange rate. A deposit of 10,000 baht gets a discount of 50,000 baht once the price is officially confirmed. I'm pleased to see that the Cyberster is in production with China deliveries commencing. That provides some level of confidence the export plans may be roughly on schedule. 🙏 Would you know how many global preorders exist for the Cyberster? Or what their current monthly production output is? MG sells the MG4 in Thailand which I've test driven and even that lower priced car drives quite competently. One observation is with the sound of the various accessory motors MG is deploying. Windows, top, doors, seats, etc it seems these small motors are uncharacteristically loud compared with other western makes. I wonder why that is? 🤔 We're very pleased with our Tesla after a year and 25,000km and the EV ownership here is delightful. I suspect the Cyberster will be a nice addition and experience as well. Thanks for posting your thoughts. As you mentioned there are many journalist reviews, but yours is the first owner review I've seen. Hence, quite a bit more credible. I look forward to seeing more content from you 🤞 on the overall feeling with the car from both you and your wife's perspective. Good luck and I hope your weather clears so you can report on the "top down" experience. Cheers, 😁

I wouldn’t think that he would know how many preorders there are as I don’t think he works for MG and here in the UK we’ve been told September originally it was June/July or as they put it summer time.

Hi from what I could find out production is low volume at the moment - end of 2023 volumes < 1000 (our car Nov production) the big sales push looks to be in this year here in China - additional anniversary colour version with red roof, I don't think in total they will be in 100k units closer to 50k per year - forecast was up to 3k for UK market, from some blogs (China Tick Tock) here MAGNA are involved - roof system - one picture shows BMW logo on parts(!), generally the car is OK, I will make a road drive soon after the Chinese New Year holiday now the weather is better, my wife loves the car one key feature she always uses is the voice comment this part at least is very effective, doors, windows etc.

I’m sure it’s just teething problems like all new models. The issues should be sorted over time. I’m already sold just on the looks alone. And the interior looks like a jet cockpit.
