Funny to see this video and hear no mention of Dick Dale and the role he played especially in the amp department...wow sort of disrespectful or ignorant...
John Page, and then it says R&D...he never invented anything that lasted, nor did any other team member of the Custom Shop invented anything or improved anything...until this day in 2023. Go figure: staggered locking tuners? Sperzel. 5-way switch? Fender Japan. LSR ball-bearing nut and S1 switch? Bill Turner. 2 stud Fender vibrato? G&L (Leo Fender). Straplocks? Dunlop and Schaller. Locking vibrato and locking saddles? Floyd Rose and Wilkinson. 2-way adjustable trussrod? Not Fender. Improved vintage Strat bridge Saddles? Highwood (Marcel Dam). Trussrod Spokewheel? Not Fender.
Damn... Seeing Bruce Zinky so young makes me feel so old now, and I'm not even 40 yet. I still got a 100w handwired Fender Tone Master head & cab configuration.
Nice! That last clip of Stevie playing ‘so excited’ (that I’ve watched hundreds of times now) was taken from his show in my home town at the Elmocambo in Toronto (Ontario, Canada) I sure miss SRV … and I’m still playing a Fender Tele. 😁👍🏻😎
I bought my '95 Fender Stratocaster Special (MIM) brand new in '96 and it's my first maple neck. It has endured quality control issues of the day but the upgrades made it much better and it's more special now than it has ever been... i love my Mexicali angel!
sadly this vid is from the era of those horrible red knob amps.i dont know how u can mess with such a good design to produce that line of amps.besides that gripe fender are just such well designed gear.the strat and tele are pure genius
Tuner / Tester: Bah. I've seen a number of Fenders that were wacky as heck out of the box. Certainly keeps local shops in business with the final setup.
Well, it's a Fender ad. All the great players play a variety of makes. Horses for courses, etc. I'm sure they don't pay for their Fender guitars anyway as they are a great promotional tool for the company.
Mike ditka runs the metal shop? Lol I love fender. Stratocaster man for life. Eric Johnson's Cliff's of Dover is a perfect example of why. Good choice adding that to this video production
Some of these comments crack me up… “It’s just a Fender promo”, “Fender rules, Gibson sucks”, even disparaging people’s hairstyles… Give me a break, people have become so vacuous, so cynical, don’t be that person. Everyone knows the BEST guitar is the one that inspires you to play. Good tone comes in many flavors.
