A rare example of a vtuber who will probably never livestream. I like using computers to make art and I'm proud to be an amateur at it. I post whatever I want on this channel because I don't feel like making separate channels for different interests or video genres.
another note, 16:13 you don't need to exit the mesh editor, you can use the bake function to 'finalize' it. by finalize i mean it will no longer create new triangles until you reactivate it
Do the eyes absolutely have to be on separate layers like that? I drew them on the same layer and I really don't want to have to go and fix the psd file again but I'm afraid I might have to now.
depends, if you have the sclera (white of the eyes) and iris/pupil separate you can use that. however if the iris and sclera are on the same layer then it is not usable as the iris will be stuck in place. The art i downloaded for practice has the pupil, iris, sclera, highlights and shadows all separate.
Great tutorial! i just recently installed inochi and it was a bit confusing at first but these tips helped. By the way, for symmetrical things like the eyes that can be mirrored like you did, how do we go about opening and closing both eyes at the same time? is there a way to merge the parameters or is there another way to pair the eyes? Cheers!
Important note about addons for anyone inexperienced with Blender: Blender updates frequently break addons due to changes in the API, and addon developers often have to scramble to update their addons to make it compatible with the latest version of Blender when their addons get broken (assuming that the addon is actually being maintained). This is why you have to make sure that your addons are compatible with whatever version of Blender you're using, and maybe use older versions of addons if you're using an older version of Blender. I mentioned in this video that I was using Blender version 3.6 at the time, but I failed to mention that the version of MMD Tools that I was using must've been v2.9.1
Thank you for the tutorial!! If it’s possible, would you consider making a guide to fix the ripped model’s physics (skirt and hair mainly) at some point?
Unfortunately, I've spent years trying to figure out how to make physics in MMD that live up to my own standards (e.g. matching the quality of physics found on YYB or Mihoyo models), and eventually got so frustrated with my inability to do that that I gave up on rendering anything in MMD and switched my focus to rendering in Blender. There are some pretty interesting tutorials on MMD physics available on Nico Nico Douga, but they're all in Japanese and I don't have the skills to translate them
For the people having trouble using Asset Studio: because the program has been unmaintained for two years, I probably should've pointed y'all to a fork that's actually getting recent updates, but otherwise I'm not sure how to solve all the problems that others are having. I haven't really been using Asset Studio myself for months now
This Ratchet has been everyone’s favorite. A Medic who was also a Soldier, who has seen a lot of Horror during the War. Forced to sacrifice loved ones just to save everyone. It would take him 50 million Starla Cycles to get them back. With help from the friends that were like family to him.
I have a question. Would it be possible to make your own custom clothes & hair for the models? This is cause I want to make models of my project sekai OCs.
amazing and comprehensive tutorial!! if anyone's curious/wants it/etc, i've started making a list of costumes by ID - it started as just a personal reference for sizes for each chaaracter (as you also have - nice!) but since nobody else out there seems to have made a list of them by ID, i figured why not yknow? docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cyC-52AQ80EIjABBfLxqS9tEBSdFFvMyxw8FjU4fpts/view (may have to copy paste, IDs are on second tab, huge work in progress for now but we'll get there)
Pair buttom, well, what it does is you write the assigned symbol or text for your lefts and rights, in your model it's < and >, if the layers are named the same except this one, they are paired for you, you can assign "Left" "Right" and other symbols too.
I haven't worked with those models myself, but I would suspect that the bone names and hierarchy could be different, and therefore the bone script that I've provided wouldn't work. But it should be possible for you to write your own bone script if you understand how MMD rigs need to be set up
It's impossible to click the links in the description, they are cut. Also, can you share that doc tutorial? I tried writing the link but it says I don't have permission to view it.
RU-vid won't make my links clickable until I unlock "advanced features" by building up channel history (posting more videos). Granted, I could also send them my ID, but I'm not gonna do that. So it's gonna take a while
For some reason, trying to load the AddUV (converted vertex colours) into PMX Editor without doing this step causes them to not display as the right colours. The numerical values need to be tweaked in the RGB Curves node for reasons that are hard for me to understand myself. Figuring out this conversion method took me months
Missing the last Flashback "You taught me to protect like an Autobot, but all i did was to destroy like a Decepticon" "Sometimes we do what we must, even if It doesn't make Sense"
*This is what Perceptor is saying* 7:32 - I'm afraid it's not that simple. You see, Omega Supreme was purposely designed to have a very simple processor. With it, he will be able to carry out his mission without hesitation. 7:55 - Because of Omega Supreme's simple processor, he requires a mentor bot to imprint upon; one that he will take his commands from. 8:19 - You must gain the trust of Omega Supreme.
One detail I like to point out is Ratchet's use of the word "friend" - not a rank or position like "superior", "handler", or "mentor" even, but "friend", like he was already defying the Elite Guard's aim to make Omega Supreme their ultimate weapon.
