Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I post whatever I want whenever I want! Currently, it’s been videos tracking my weight loss surgery journey. In Jan 2021 I had the modified duodenal loop surgery (also known as SADI-S, SIPS, or Loop DS) My posting is not regular, so be sure to subscribe and ring the bell if you want to catch my videos when they drop.
Thanks for sharing im about to have the SIPS surgery to help with my health issues like T2DM. I've done all the testing and on October 5th my surgeon is going to give me a date. So I'm starting to realize i have to plan for the weight loss mentally and with clothes 😂 I'm super excited and glad I found your videos. Thanks for putting SIPS in the title. I watch your 8 month video first bc that what popped up. I also had the wrong idea about surgery. I know someone who did it, and i started researching and figured out the health benefits and thats all it took. I was all in! Thank God for his guidance to make it all happen. ❤
Hi! Hope you are doing great! How much total weight did you lose overall, have you maintained it and what’s your current weight? I’m considering having this procedure in 1 month. TIA!!!
Hello thanks for the video im watching from Canada. Im trying to choose between gastric bypass and SADI just curious why you choose sadi over gastric bypass thanks
You can see more of my day to day over on Instagram! Www.instagram.com/thelindsaylist As for drinking, I didn’t drink before surgery and don’t after either so that’s not a question I can answer, but I have a close friend that had the sleeve and she is able to have alcohol.
I have come here to watch your journey as i am at the start of the weightloss surgery journey and my surgeon said this procedure is best for me and i have to look into before my next appointment.
First congrats you look beautiful, can I ask a question regarding stomach trouble, and the bathroom, worried if i cant get the to bathroom fast enough.
I’m sure everyone is different, but I had not issues in that area. I’m really regular but it’s just one time in the morning when I get up and it’s not bad at all.
I had this surgery November 11th and so far feel amazing and have had great weight loss. Down around 65 pounds so far. Im dealing with my first stall right now and am feeling a little burned out on certain foods but when I add seasonings to try and change things up my body doesnt like the stronger flavors. Any tips would be extremely helpful! Keep the updates coming. Your progress is inspiring.
I am in the same place. I have just made the decision for myself. I want to be around for my kids and husband. I want to be the mom that can DO stuff. Not just watch. I think you are brave to make the decision you did for yourself. I was looking for stories on the Sadi-s and found you. Thank you for sharing your story and being an inspiration. ❤😊
I’m great! So good that I haven’t really been thinking about surgery or this channel. I did film a video at the beginning of June but I haven’t gotten around to posting it. Hopefully I do thst soon.
I’m about 1 month post op today with SADI as well, and I’m struggling figuring out what foods I can eat. I’m eating scrambled eggs, refried beans, Greek yogurt, protein shakes and soups. I have no clue what else to eat. The restriction is super strong.
There’s just not a lot of options at that stage! Wish I had some good ideas. Hang in there! It feels long now, but it will get better so soon! You will have more food options and you won’t be quite as restricted. Try and focus on other things and ride it out.
Happy to see your updates, both my daughter and I are working on the steps to have the SADI procedures, and we're in the Austin area (Cedar Park). would love an update.
Enjoying your videos, My surgery is 4-20th. I've got to get out of these 300's. I find that therapy is very good talk therapy is very helpful. A judgement free zone. yet helpful to our mindfulness. What is your weight today?
@@LanaLamour I’m doing great! I need to do another update. I’ve passed my year anniversary now by a few months. I’ve just been busy living life! My quality of life has improved so much. I’ve found a good rhythm and routine and I honestly just don’t think about the surgery or weight loss like I used to. My mind is on new things. But I do think it would be valuable to come back and do at least one more update. Overall, I’m happy and thriving!
@@thelindsaylist I was watching one of your videos regarding Weight loss surgery and you said something about one of your goals was reading your scriptures saying that word gave it away and then I went over to your Instagram and saw a Temple in the background and I was like yes because I’m LDS too in Orlando Florida❤️
Good luck with everything! The pre-op stage can be difficult, esp if you are trying to get insurance to cover it. Don’t stop fighting and advocating for yourself :)
@@thelindsaylist thank you so much I actually had the gastric sleeve surgery back in May 2018 and it just didn’t do what I needed it to well basically I didn’t do what I needed to-so I am back for a revision to the DS by the end of this year
How much of an effort is it for you to take vitamins all day? Do you have issues with loose stools? I keep reading that it can be a side effect of Sadi. I just started this process with my surgeon and he recommended Sadi over the sleeve for me. These are two of the things that I really worry about with getting the Sadi. Also, how often do you have to go in to get your vitamin levels checked? Thanks, and you look great!
The vitamin thing has been a non issue. I thought it would be more difficult, but it’s second nature now. Changing from liquid/chewable kind to capsules as soon as I could swallow them was what made it doable. I don’t have any loose stool issues, I’m very regular and it hasn’t been an issue. I have had my vitamins levels checked a handful of times over the first year, and from here on out I think it will just be yearly. I haven’t had any issues with those levels. Best of luck as you make your decision!
@Lindsay Himmer we have so much in common and I'm about to have the DS. I needed to see this so much- thank u! There's so much out there about the sleeve or bypass and not enough about the DS
I am almost 10 weeks post op SADI. Thank you so much for the very, very helpful information! I do know people who have had WLS but not our procedure. I so appreciate someone I can relate too. Please keep us updated. I am now following you on Instagram!
You look amazing. I did my SADI July 14th, I'm struggling with a stall but have lost 70 lbs. Please explain your diet, please. Thank you for sharing your update.♡
Thanks! I don’t follow a specific diet, I try and prioritize protein. I eat protein first, then fruits and veggies, then carbs. I don’t have any off limits foods. I try and get my drs recommended pint of protein daily and take all my vitamins.
Hi thank you for all your doing to help people not be so nervous. Im too having the Sadi done in Austin on Jan 7 with dr lough, the dr is great but I do get frustrated with the staff, can’t get answers or calls returned, but I can’t wait thank you again
Yes! I had the same problem! That was my only complaint too. I found that emailing the general email line usually was the most effective way of getting a call back. I would ask them to forward my email to the nurse advocate.
