I just realized his song and the theme of Hunchback of Notre dame theme is the exact same. As if the main theme is focusing on the villain’s arc which is quite interesting, considering that many other Disney movies would focus on the main theme of the protagonist
I’m just so mad that they didn’t make Meg a Disney princess. My definition of a Disney princess is “a girl with a nice dress, great intentions, and a great singing voice.”
A Fun Fact for the musically appreciative. Tony Jay requested the note for the final 'BURN' to be lowered but Alan Menken refused, and Tony Jay had to take lessons until he could do it.
I think it's the lack of ceremony or stylization that makes this so good. Ashitaka didn't "snatch" the arrow. He just saw where it was going, then let it slip into his hand. Then he used it to kill a samurai. Not out of bloodlust or rage. The samurai were preventing him from aiding hundreds of people. Therefore, they had to go. Nonchalance makes this moment resonate. He pulls off a truly BADASS moment without the film adorning it with a bunch of music, edits, or other bells and whistles.
