Hey no offense intended, but I notice your a healthy guy like me . I’m 6,4 340lbs and I’m not saying your that big but How did this kayak preform for you? Thank you and loved the video!
Hey man , great vids , I'm a bigger guy probaly 260lbs 5'11", how does this kayak feel with you on it in the higher or lower seating position and have you tried standing ?
When I use a bait cast I usually set it so the lure drops to the water and stops without a bird next. then I cast it out as far as I can or need to. Then I take a small piece of tape(I like bandage tape) and place it on my fishing reel spools line right where it comes out of the real. Then reel it in. It may birds nest a little but not too bad. Try it until you get a little better. This is how I teach my kids. Less frustrating for the birds, the kids, the fish and especially me. :) good video.
I'm 6'4" and 245.. My Catch 120 has a Simple PVC Trolling Motor Mount that fits in the 2 Back Rod Holders that I made.. I Operate the Motor Beside me with my Right hand.. Thanks
Great vid man, I've decided on a paddle over a pedal and the catch 120 is my top 3 to buy, I don't mind pedal, but I already have a small boat with a motor if I have to cover more water
bud, ya definitely look more comfortable on the pelican, then the first video in the fall. I'm getting my Tarpon 120 ready, but definitely thinking of getting the Pelican 120. Seems so much more stable, I'm a solid 270lbs, think the width and design of the Pelican would work nicer. Nice video.
Do you still like your kayak? I'm aiming to purchase the same one in the next month and have been looking around for reviews. I live in Trenton too so your video caught my eye. Awesome fishing!
Hey! I do still like it but I kind of wish I got the pedal drive instead. This won't be specific to the Pelican of course, but constantly juggling between fishing rod and paddle can be awkward, when you're trying to hold on a spot. It's fine for most areas though and the act of paddling is enjoyable when I'm not actively fishing so, whatever! Otherwise, it's very stable and laid out well. I will be moving to Labrador soon and plan on using it a lot in the backwoods lakes around there. If you have specific questions, feel free to ask :)
That thing sticking out your perch mouth is the swim bladder ( vissinatoire in french).... it does that when fish are caught in depth and reeled in to fast as those type of fish can only inhale.... with lake trout for example you won't see that as they can inhale and exhales ...
Thanks! This is a restart of my old channel. I went from a couple of thousand to 2 subscribers, and it's been tough building it back! Hopefully I can put out some good content this season. Still waiting for safe ice around my area now but I'll be venturing to some small lakes for some backwoods rainbows later this week. Good luck on Nipissing! I plan on getting out there in Feb with the same dudes...
Good video brother. And that machine is sick. I love it. I'm heading to Sudbury area jan, 2 and camping and ice fishing for a week. Can't wait. I went there for a few days in the fall to scout good lakes and camping spots. Capreol area is beautiful
Thanks! Yeah Sudbury has some great spots. I spent a lot of time in Capreol as a teenager, and used to hunt and fish not too far from there also. That whole area is awesome! Good luck with your trip... Sounds like a great time!
No it was last season. I recently renamed my channel and started over. There have been a couple or reposts for that reason. I'm hoping for some safe, walkable ice in this area in a couple of weeks!
You should check out my latest couple of videos (still from previous seasons) and see my latest set up. I had a Kawasaki Teryx 4 side by side with tracks on it, and Garmin Panoptix! Hasn't made me a pro though, unfortunately. LOL.
Unfortunately this is from last season. I am splitting my RU-vid Channel "AdvOffroad" into that and AdvOutdoors to better reflect the content on each. I have a few more fishing ones to post here then it will be all new content.
