The Bore Comparator was zeroed with a Mahr 40 EWR micrometer at a value of 3.42020 (diameter of 3 of the pistons 1 was 3.42025) Unfortunately my DTI gauge I recently bought doesn't quite have the range so had to settle for one with a 10um resolution for now... But shows me that I have circa 95um of clearance or 0.0037". Now to repeat this at several positions, several angles to see how egged or out of round these bores are! There will be a full content video on the process of measuring this block 😊
You need to find an alternate vacuum source since it is different to the 1.9 TD ABL engine. Another potential source is from your EGR valve. You may find a small pipe to T off from there.
Try and take her out for a couple of rides mate before giving her an overhaul, shocks and brakes and a few bushes want replacing on her too. Ride it once, frighten myself and then lock her away again for another 18 months haha
Hey man, i really like your videos, but i would like you to tell me a bit more about what you did to your 1.1 peugeot 206 , i have one and the 60 hp is really bad, but i wouldn´t like to touch the engine because most people tell me it isn't worth it, but then i saw your videos ;)
That wasn't my Peugeot I'm afraid! It was a friend's that was running a small turbo from a Daihatsu charade. Very custom install involving lots of welding and tuning. In all honesty, they are right. Not much to be yielded from them engines unless you chuck thousands at them, at which point you'd be better off just buying a bigger engined example, 1.6 or 2.0. We've all been there! I held off until I got my Astra Turbo then the S2000. The power you gain is much better!
@@Weihrauch88 Well yup but it alredy has history with me, and even if it wasn't that much i would like to gain some bhp with the ecu remap but at the same time not blow the engine, if you could give me the socials to the friend, if he wants i would really like to chat with him . thank you and keep up the good content!
Awesome video. I wish I'd seen it before I fitted mine 😂 I bought a turbo pressure monitoring gauge kit off eBay for £20 with all parts bits included. I also designed my own gauge mounting plate on F360 but mine is centered and is for a slightly smaller gauge apart from that it looks identical to yours!!! My t4 is also the same blue 😂 had it running on pure NEW veg oil until last year when the prices all went up!! Got through more than 6000L rapeseed oil l bought direct from KTC in Birmingham! Used to work out to about 45p a litre -> 80p a litre in 2020
Ah that was the dream for me! Veg oil not far off the price of ordinary diesel now! Funny I hardly used to see any Indian Blue T4's but now they're everywhere 😁 Thanks for stopping by matey 👍
Yes! Along with what was going on in Ukraine, prices hit £2,20L at one point! A lot of people don't like the idea of using food grade fuel 😂 I live in a little village in Warwickshire and there are three blue T4s that pass throug daily! Mine is extremely faded unlike the others I see. Mine was owned by a Indian builder from Birmingham and didn't really care much for the van😂 lots of engravings from bored workers on the exterior and interior linings. Preparing to do my throttle shaft spindle and seals for the 2nd time in 2 years due to me putting off replacing the expensive throttle cable with automatic adjuster🙈
Thank you Alan! It's sort of gone a little quiet as of late as I am doing an engine rebuild on my Honda S2000 desperately trying to get her back on the road by June/July time! When I do anymore work on the T4 I will be uploading more footage for sure 😄
Not a great deal nowadays! used to mean major servicing /maintenance on older vehicles, this was just for a bit of fun. The van was off the road for 11 years which has meant the overall mileage is particularly low for a 1998 vehicle :)
