And movies. He was often the best actor on camera, and I think his talents were wasted, considering some of the recent leshe would’ve been great in, better than the person they cast. CC and company, darker than Amber, for example, Quentin Tarantino was a big fan; I wish he had used him in some of his movies.
Rich Man Poor Man was one of the best miniseries ever made bar none. I saw it as a pre-teen like many of the commenters. I just saw the original intro to the series and I was moved to tears. They don't make shows like that anymore. It is a true pity. If they remade the series, I would be scared that they would mess it up. Brilliant show. Miniseries at its best!
This was a riveting series that me and my whole family watched every week. I just couldn't wait for each episode to air. I would have been around 15 years old at the time. Falconetti scared the hell out of me!
Damn CBS keeps it so close to the vest with RMPM, you can't find it streaming anywhere. Generations to young to remember this, simply some of the best acting performances from the entire cast you will ever see anywhere TV or Movies!
There's hardly anything on this game on RU-vid. I was at a game, well, lots of them back then an one of them was a really tight game between Seattle & Houston. Lead changes the whole game until Johnson made a shot very similar to this at the end of the third quarter. I thought it was deeper, I thought he was closer to the free throw line than mid court. Maybe this isn't the game? But after he made that shot the crowd erupted an they went to their third to fourth quarter timeout an they played some song they played a lot back in in multiple stadiums an the entire crowd stayed on our feet an clapped in time to the song. The game wasn't close in the fourth, with that adrenaline shot from Eddie's shot an the crowd being so loud the Sonics blewout the Rockets in the fourth. Was this the end of the third quarter? There's literally nothing on RU-vid of this game that I can find..... I'll keep looking.....
It's something how I mostly started watching this series because of my love for Peter Strauss, but it was his son's that really brought the spice in. They were really good sons. And actually every actor in this series, did a very fine job.
I watched this with my grandmother when I was 13. She adored this first series. I will never forget those nights curled up on the sofa with her watching this show. The theme song is like a time machine that whisks you back to the 70s.
@@warhorse2034 Or today they would go too far in the opposite direction. Bill Smith is basically eye-#$%ing Nick Nolte in the scene above. Remember that Falconetti later sexually assaults Tom's friend. That was rough stuff in 1976.
I don’t think of it as sexual, he was just a very good, and intense actor who often was the best actor on camera in a scene. CC and Company, darker than Amber… So convincing and compelling; his talents were wasted; there were many rolls over the years were he would’ve been better than the actor they chose.
