Welcome to the Westy Sessions. The aim behind these musical excursions is to capture talented musicians performing acoustically in a VW camper, offering an authentic, intimate, and unrehearsed experience that is guaranteed to stick with you.
One of my favs. Played this song many times. I loved going to see him live with my old dear friend John. Brings me back to more innocent times. Now listening from Ireland. Sure do miss America. This makes me very home sick. x
I've seen him in Maine (at LL Bean believe it or not), in Boston at (I can't remember the name of the place but I remember he played sugarcoating and I loved it because it called out the bs in the media), but the first time was at the Fillmore in San Francisco and that show is embedded in my head forever. That's when he told us he picked up the falsetto from listening to Tears for Fears. A friend turned me on to The American about a year before that and I didn't listen to anything else for about 3 months. Maybe 4 months. I guess I finally listened to something else when I picked up Wonder Bar. I listened to that for quite a while, too. He's a great artist and an inspiration.
I love this..especially how naturally you express yourself in your intros. I have yet to master that. So I kind of ramble on my page. I am also a musician but not as well practice as I've only been teaching myself for 7 years and 10 years to play guitar and keyboard respectively. Keep it up. I hope you visit my page. There's a lot of videos and some of them are just improvisational. Me being a goofball. Others are for pure practice purposes like breathing and Cadence when it comes to certain songs. It helps with my anxiety. I think I explain it in one of the videos when I am performing Lose Yourself by Eminem. But there are also songs that have written and I'm still working on. One of them is called heartbeat. Your feedback on it would be awesome because I'm still trying to figure out a bridge. Love your music
Someone performed this song at my high school in’99 and I knew I had just heard something special. Tonight, I read the words “home bound” and something went off in my head. I thought, “that amazing song I heard in high school! But it’s not ‘home bound.’ What is it?!” After a frustrating few minutes of the song title on the tip of my brain, the cathartic moment came when the words “glory bound” were unearthed in my mind. After so many years of not hearing this song, I’m finally reunited with it! Thank you Martin Sexton for this song
Just found this song yesterday and 😳 dude, your amazing! I’ve listened on repeat ever since that first play… literally have listened now over 100 times This hits hard like Amos Lee’s “violin”
Just saw the band perform in the UK at the Didmarton Bluegrass Festival yesterday. What a treat. And this was my favourite song of the whole festival. No question.
