I was just thinking about that the other day when I was re watching the video. These towers are around 30 stories tall, and with four to five elevators per tower, it gets really busy. So, destination dispatch would be better for them.
@michaelwalterselevatorsrob5009 That's cool that you know someone who works for ThyssenKrupp. I don't know anyone in the elevator industry, and I am still new to filming elevators. Though I have had an interest for years with elevators, and over the past few months, I have just started to film them. So I am still new to this.
Ya, they work pretty well. They just need to work out some of the kinks with them as there are strange sounds coming from some of them when going up and down. And a few small issues here and there, for example, lights dimming sometimes, but overall, they work fine for the most part.
I prefer Ford as well i have one of every Ford in the game , well actually i have 3 GT350s one track, one semi-track and one stock. I have a raptore tuned to resemble a Raptor R another with the windsor engine swap making over 1400hp a stock 05 Ford GT a top speed tuned 05 Ford GT a 400hp Focus RS a Rally Tuned Focus RS and a drift Focus RS and i think thats all the multiple Fords i have i just have one of the rest
These things WERE HORRIBLE Last weekend at the convention i was at, 1 was broken, and they kept breaking where no floors would take calls at all button would just light up and go out, trying to check out today took an hour as the elevators broke and we had to take the only working elevator that being the service elevator in the north tower. It feels like they made them worse with this mod, they were better pre mod with the wooden cabs it felt.
I am sorry to hear that. It makes sense that they would be slow but odd that they did not work at all. I do know there are two hidden service elevators, though I did not ride them when I was there. I don't think those elevators were modernized, though, as the call buttons looked older. One of the elevators I did ride in the North tower, which is the second one in the video, made a really weird sound going up and down. Anyways, my theory is that the elevator motors probably overheated in the machine room, as they were most likely overwhelmed. Just out of curiosity, were they running fine at the beginning of the convention?
@@SpaceWeka Yea we had a convention of 3.600 people at that hotel all last weekend and MOST of us were in the north tower (3-4 per room) along with people at some nearby hotels and they were CONSTANTLY being used so i suspect as you say they likely were overheating or something. IMO they did not need to be modded really, as they seemed better before mod. The 2 hidden service elevators are in the "ice" room near the stairwells , i had to ride them down today to get out as main ones were broken and i had 4 heavy bags. My room was just across from it on the 19th floor. Well except for car 14 being broken they were running ok but had a lot of glitches even empty it would constantly say they are overloaded and show random up and down arrows it seemed. but also some were having their doors shake going up and down, and some also had their lights dimming, and one of the ones in the South tower the indicator would not update and would just freeze so you would not no where you are. I have a vid of them pre mod from Last years convention (FE 2023) when they worked far better just was a long wait due to crowds, but this year they kept having major issues far worse then last year,
@LinxFox I 100% agree with you. These elevators are not good. I had similar issues when I was there in February. That being the lights were flickering for me as well, as the doors rattling, too. When I was in the South Tower exploring that part of the building. We went to the top restaurant just to see what that was about. and as we clicked the main lobby button, the elevator did not move. It just jolted and sat there for around 30 seconds. We thought we were stuck. It started moving again after it went up just a little bit, then beeped at us, opened it's doors and took us down. This was not the scenic elevator, just one of the basic ones. I can totally understand when you say they're full of glitches.
I was also in Toronto Saturday night to Sunday, which must have been the weekend of that convention. I was there for unrelated stuff. We were there to ride the TTC. And tour around Toronto. We were at the hotel down the street from the Westin. Which was the Radisson Blu. The elevators were a little busy at some points, but granted, the Westin has a lot more rooms than the Radisson Blu.
@@SpaceWeka I wish i had time to ride more transit last weekend or do a elevator vid or too but soo much other fun. Yep Blu elevators were busy as a good amount of our con was staying there but most were in the westin, especially the ones "in suit" Here is hoping next year hotel cleans up their act for their elevators. Yea westin has 977 rooms+other hotels for 3,647 attendees.
