My good friend passed this summer. He sent me this video via email in 2007! He nailed it when he described this “Another one of these guys - sort of a country Joe Strummer” .. yes, I agree .. RIP GJG .. I miss you so much 💕❤️🩹
It makes me catch my breath just about every time, the way Amanda Shires can find the core of madness in a song and make it just pour out of her fiddle. The 400 Unit are a very, very good band on nights that she's not on stage with them. She has a substantial solo career of her own, after all. But on nights she's there with her fiddle, her harmonies, and her energy, they become something even more, and are truly a great band.
This was a true pleasure. I made an album of it (digital) for my collection. As much as I enjoyed the horrible harmonies when Jason was a DBT, in his drunken stupor, going a new direction for Jason isbell was a good move. I'll go ahead and say it. The Bob Dylan of this age, is Jason . Different times, but inspirational.
I wanna leave you I wanna lose us I wanna give up But I won't I wanna miss this I want a heartache I wanna run away But I won't Do I love you Oh, I do And I'm going to 'til I'm gone But if you think that I can stay in this Same old, same old Well, I don't I don't I'm gonna break things I'm gonna cross the line And make you wake up 'Cause you won't I'm gonna name names, I'm gonna call us out I'm gonna say it If you won't 'Cause do I love you Oh, I do And I'm going to 'til I'm gone But if you think that I can stay in this Same old, same old Well, I don't Oh I don't wanna fight But I'll fight with you If I have to, If I have to Do I love you Oh, I do And I'm going to 'til I'm gone But if you think that I can stay in this Same old, same old Same old, same old Well, I don't I don't
