Ethereal is about: a combination of fact-finding, storytelling and trying to get at larger questions about the human condition. Ethereal is about films and video content, pertaining to reality, culture, society, history, nature, travel, science and presenting them before you the world in a whole new personal way.
My name is Ayush Dinker and I am a filmmaker based out of Delhi. Although I do most of the stuff on Ethereal, there are many others who have been helping me create these stories.
If you like the stuff at Ethereal and would like to watch more films from independent creators like us, you can pay us as a subscription or one-time payment. You can contribute as low as USD 1 per month or INR 50 - a small amount for you but it can go a long way in enabling us to make more and better films.
Thank you for this video. High school and college in Goa. Originally from Goa and heading back this November for 3 months or longer? Live in New Jersey.
Thank you for this amazing cinematic representation of our emotion , "DURGA PUJA" . Dont have enough words but your video also contributed for the UNESCO recognition really thanks a lot🙏🏻♥️
I kinda liked your stuff earlier until I saw this video today and you know what I found out, you are also from those who try to balance the act. In fact. Picking the so called secular punch lines, showing only the 'we want peace' lines. What I saw, 'people want peace', that they said and also at the same time, they just ignored this question 'ki ap India k sath rahna chahte hai ki bla bla..' They did not say 'ha' and that is something you just ignored. Almost everything else got importance then this and that is the problem. It is India and Indian Kashmir. It is not that Indians are 'bahri log'. It is also our land which these people occupied 100-200 years ago and destroyed and changed demographic completely. It not their 'paternal property' but every Indian's. .
This narrative is more complex than it appears to be. Two important aspects that can be pointed out when discussing why people migrate to big cities, go beyond just employment opportunities. First, the sense of security in terms of roots and belonging that comes from being in your birthplace is something most women, unfortunately, have never and will never experience ever in their lives because anyhow they live with the constant expectation of being married off, making this concept almost foreign to them. Second, villages still remain hotspots of caste discrimination in India, which was a major reason for my family moving out and its evident from the fact that even discussing these issues can be dangerous, an therefore in search of a more peaceful life, many choose to leave their villages as in cities people are less bothered about these things. Due to the same politics, our family can't return to our village, even though we miss it and would love to go back.
