I've never liked how much importance teams were given, to the point where fans argued whether characters were "flight, fight or speed" and could only be slotted into those positions.
Exactly! Stuff like that feels so limiting. I remember when convos surrounding Tangle, Whisper and Jewel as a trio in IDW were exactly like that. Stuff just felt so stale
The Morrison race change isn't that problematic, because he's not a important enough of character, but if we let these things slide, we'll be boiled alive like the frog that doesn't notice a gradual temperature change. It's better to put your foot down early than later. I'd say the same regardless of the original race, so if he was originally Black and were changed to White. I love Teen Titans, and wouldn't accept Cyborg being made White.
6:00 great video but the point of buster arm is that it deal a lot more damage than the regular busters. so its great for finishing off bosses or dealing with really tanky enemies like proto angelos
@@Josh-sz8ip because she uses demon power to create the breakers, she says it herself. Not to mention the breakers are really fragile, so if nero uses buster arm at full power, it breaks

Since Vergil can summon his dobbelganger,he should be able to summon his other forms as well🤪 would make sense for dmc 6😂 also it would be cool if portal slash was a thing
I love the game buuut i hate the devil breaker so much,i still dont like that. My gameplay style is either Dante or the alpha and the omega Vergil . Next game i want to be play as Dante and Vergil in hell
I'll be honest, while I acknowledge that they're well designed I just don't like playing Nero or V very much. The one thing stopping this from being my favorite Devil May Cry is not being able to play Dante in every level, and yet I don't hate playing the other characters enough to put the game down.
@@DarionGNB Honestly, if you could play any character for every level I probably would have done a full playthrough of each character at some point. I get not doing that for the story, but making it a post game option would have been cool.
@@DarionGNB It's like only Bayonetta 2 and DMC3 understand that they should just let us play every level as any character. It's not a hard concept to grasp, has strong benefits and zero detriments I find fighting and character action games really difficult even with just one character. I can't be bothered to try and learn 3 different characters each play through. If not for Vergil, I might have quit playing the game after the first play through. I even bought the game again on pc just to use mods to play as Nero and Dante on every mission, but the mod only works on an older version, because the last update did absolutely nothing but break mods, and I can't figure out how to install an older version, so it was a waste of money buying again on PC. I'd be willing to pay capcom just to use any character on any level to save me the headache.
If i were to include Fast Forward & Back to the Sewers as part of the 03-07 Turtles which were pretty bad I'd probably place Rise as my favorite TV version of the Turtles. I will admit that 2 seasons was a shame though but it probably kept the quality really high
Honestly, yes. I do feel that the show suffers from bad pacing. Everything went by so fast. I literally had to rewatch the entire series. 4 more times! Just so I can get a grasp of what happened throughout every episode... & after every rewatch. It's heartbreaking to see countless flaws & missed opportunities that the series failed to utilize. Which makes me, as a creator myself. Disappointed to watch. Especially the finale. The build up to it just didn't really hit me at all. (Oh & it felt off that sir pen died as a joke/gag.) I do hope season 2 does get better but ngl. I'm not crossing my fingers this time...
I think the pilot gives people less than folks think, given that while the broad strokes are consistent with the show, it is not, in its details, canon. (Per Vivzie, but you can observe this too.) As such, I think it's actually better as a little bonus if you liked the show, rather than as a thing you must watch. (I've watched quite a few of first time reactors they don't seem to have any of the issues that long time viewers fear they'll have without the pilot.) I had no issue with the pacing, but I slotted it into the "stage musical" spot in my brain, and I don't think its pacing is particularly fast compared to other things in that category -- every song is an accelerating shortcut and you're expected to read a LOT between the lines. (Criticisms that contrast with norms outside of musicals fall kinda flat -- like being grumpy that a fantasy has fantastical elements. You may dislike the genre, and that's fine, but that isn't really a criticism of the work in particular.) Hulluvaboss otoh, I strongly believe you should not watch its pilot till after you watch the show, as the pilot will give you entirely the wrong idea about what kind of show it ended up being. More broadly, the pilot is just much worse than the show proper. (A lot of the hate-watchers are, to this day, hung up on the fact that it's still not the kind of show that the pilot was.)
I followed the story just fine. You don't need to pad things out jus to "add context". As much as I miss the oold 24 epidode seasons, this is the reality now. There's not much time for anything but the plot essentials.
My thing isn't about adding context, just for things to be fleshed out and for story beats and characters arcs to be better executed and to feel less rushed
I agree with most of your thoughts on the show! As someone who likes musicals I ended up enjoying it a lot, but it definitely felt extremely rushed, and as a result the emotional beats felt unearned and didn't hit as hard as they could have with better pacing. I think if the season had been given 12 episodes rather than just 8 the pacing would have been better. I'm also not a fan of the gratuitous amount of swearing; I'm not opposed to swearing in an adult cartoon obviously, but I think swear words have more impact when they're used more sparingly; peppering them into every sentence sounds juvenile to me. Alastor swore maybe twice in the whole season, and they were memorable specifically because he swears less than all the other characters, so it means more when he does. Speaking of, the characters really carry the show through all its faults, as virtually the entire main cast is likable (except for Valentino) and Alastor in particular is definitely a standout. The entire voice cast did an amazing job, and it really shows that most of them came from Broadway.
So for the part where the angels gasp at Charlie cursing was on purpose. It was the show basically showing how the angels can do no wrong even if anyone from hell doesn’t the same thing. It’s supposed to be bullshit double standards that just show more how the angels suck in how they act
Overall I agree with most of what you said. The fact that it was so rushed was the biggest problem the show had in my opinion but I still had a great time watching it.
I FREAKING LOVE RISE! It is my FAVOURITE version of the TMNT and was just on my wavelength. I also thought the movie was beyond amazing! Unfortunately I dodn't even now about Rise until it was already over, and was absolutely gutted! My one wish is that Rise gets picked back up again, and we get to see this fantastic series given the full treatment it deserved.
I hope Netflix will pick the series up soon. Fans keep requesting and keep the show trending on the platform as well as twitter. Best of luck to get a new season!
I love Chucky, the first season was great, but season 2 was basically dogshit. I wonder if this has to do with covid had something to do with it, but the boarding school part was very boring and slow, and the Glen/Glenda stuff was not well written or handled at all. The episode where the Bound actors are killed off was so self indulgent and not fun. And then there were the bit with the female wrestler that was thrown in for reasons. I'm not going to even start watching season 3 until it's all aired so I have the option of skipping through it if it still sucks.
Every character besides Tiffany and chucky is cringe in this series especially jake, Devon and Lexi😭😭mad cringe the face expressions jake be making just is “ughghghhhhh stop looking like that”🤣
In theory, its possible to not make a character fall from grace. In animation people have more comtrol. And I though the whole point of fiction was to escape from reality, not experience more of it.
I wouldn’t say it’s a perfect movie it’s definitely a good movie but “perfect”? Definitely not. It has its flaws and question marks. It’s very cliche and has its fair share of plot armor. For example King Pin knocks Miles down to the point of basically knocking out Miles momentarily. Then King Pin watches Miles struggle to slowly get back up to his feet. Basically allowing Miles to get up. Why? He could have smashed him again possibly killing Miles with one more blow with two fists. Just the same way he kills Peter Parker in Miles’ world. Why did the writers do this? Or why make Peter B Parker so clumsy and so down in the dumps? Also the way Miles gets his radioactive spidey powers was pretty anticlimactic lol. There’s a few more details too I can nitpick on. It was a good movie but in my honest opinion it was not a perfect movie. Far from it.
I like the blood relation they have & while it does bring them closer in a sense, blood still doesn't matter to me at least. I'm coming at it from a different angle, I've never known anyone blood related to me before. I was adopted from birth & never met anyone from my birth family so I never had a time where I looked at someone who is related to me. On top of that, I'm asexual & even though that can be done outside of doing the deed, I don't want to, I'm not apposed to being a parent but I'd prefer to adopt if I end up in a relationship with a person that wants kids. So with that in mind, I might not ever meet anyone related to me so I guess a blood bond is something I can never understand. I wasn't disappointed when it was revealed they have Splinter's DNA, I think it's cool but in terms of saying it gives them an even stronger bond, suppose so but makes me feel like I don't have any family thinking of it in that sense which isn't true, I have the family I grew up with as well as my found family. This is my favorite iteration of the turtles, theme song is good, so much so that it was a mistake putting it on my theme songs playlist given I end up listening to it like 3 or 4 times every time I hit that song on the list & lately, that's been my playlist I listen to in order to push myself to getting tasks done because if I don't have music, the stuff I need to do just doesn't happen. With the extended theme reaching 2 minutes, it's the perfect size for repeating constantly, I don't get sick of it & it goes so hard. Love how distinct the turtles are from one another, you can easily tell who is who if they were all just silhouettes which should be a requirement really. Their personalities shine through well too, I adore all 4 of these turtles where as watching others, there's usually one I just don't care for, sadly that falls to Leo in 2003 & Raph in 2012. I want to like them more, I just don't. The mystic element is cool & interesting. Story building, wow, it takes some patience but is worth it! How things got revealed & the pacing of it, it caused me to really enjoy everything a lot more. One thing ruining this was Nickelodeon, they did everything they could to sabotage something amazing which is a shame. I've been hard on Nick ever since Danny Phantom was cancelled & the way they murdered it, season 3 was such a joke but at least that show got a third season. I had been open to how bad Nick does things ever since 2007 when I saw how they aired the third season of Danny Phantom of which by the way, they gave us ONE episode from like the middle of the third season which needed context from an episode earlier in that season, they aired the episode in October 2006 & I knew I was missing stuff but we didn't get the rest of season 3 until August 2007 when they just basically ended up ripping the band-aid off, new episode every day for like two weeks. Little did I know, things were going to get worse. I won't go into how badly treated Welcome to the Wayne was because I'm probably one of the few people on this planet that likes that show but ROTTMNT definitely feels like it got the worst of this network's purposefully poor choices, yeah, there's no way you screw up this badly on purpose, they wanted to see this fail which sucks, it deserved so much better.
I must say that I gave this series a try when it first came out, it was ok. But around the end of the first episode, it was astounding. It literally takes all the series and puts it here •1987 art style •2003 action •2012 emotions •2014 comedy Also did anyone notice they have the same weapons from the 2003😂😂😂😂😂
I actually have a theory about the mystic weapons. The weapons themselves don't actually have mystic power. Instead they are conduits for helping unlock and channel a person's natural mystic ability. It's why when those weapons break and the boys unlock their ninpo their powers are the same (but more powerful because power-of-family-love and all that goodness).
