Carlo Little was one of Britain's most influential drummers.
His heavy drumming style was unique during the UK 1960's music scene, when pop music was in its infancy.
Carlo was watched by, and left a lasting impression on, many of today's rock stars and he influenced some of the world's greatest rock drummers; Mitch Mitchell and Keith Moon, to name but a few.
Nice one Bill...I remember Carlo Little from his days with Screaming Lord (Dave) Sutch & I remember Brian Keith from Plastic Penny & of course I remember you a great bloke & guitarist
I had a long chat with him weeks before he died he had a sadness about him but very intelligent, great chat, it was on the night in my local when leut.pigeon group singer turned up Ronny woods brother Art was a local and Rick parfitt of status quo as well as Carlo they all jammed that night drums harmonica guitar and voices ringing out in our little pub in Hampton Wick it was great always remember it .think it's on here somewhere.
I loved Dave Sutch, even more so after touring and performing with him. I even co-produced, played drums and co-wrote several songs on one of his last albums Alive and Well in 1980. He couldn’t sing to save his life, but that isn’t what Sutchy was about. He knew how to entertain, in music and in politics. He was one of the nicest men I ever had the pleasure to meet, it’s a shame there aren’t more of his kind around.
He didn't stand in the 1997 election. I didn't know he died in 99. Is Carlo Little still alive? Of course his replacement Charlie Watts is no longer with us.
There were two Heavy Jellys. The first is the one you’re thinking of which was a later lineup Skip Bifferty (one of the greatest UK psych bands ever if you ask me) and later morphed into Griffin, the other (this track) was fronted by Jackie Lomax and had no association with Skip Bifferty
Remember hearing this when it first came out Nobody makes music like it nowadays That is not good for people like myself I had a devil of a time getting the record when it first came out, in fact I think I was the only person who's ever heard of Heavy Jelly Shame they didn't continue But thanks to RU-vid it may reach people this time Great music, great listen
I met him in Neath in 1990. He was contesting the Neath by Election that Peter Hain won. I was an Irish girl in my 20s and the landlady of a Chef & Brewer pub. He asked could he set up in the bar as a campaign headquarters. Fire away says I. Meanwhile Captain Beany was holding court in the porch. I was filmed by an S4C News Crew for the 6 o clock News under hot lights and the heat lamps listlessly turning the roast beef explaining how all of this happened. I'm here looking for that footage or a way to trace it to use in a show. Anyone?? Thanks 🇨🇮💚🙏🇨🇮💚
Lord Sutch Was The Best! .. I heard he was a real 'Lord'.? ... I first heard him 1981, age 17, here in America Stoned Out Of My Mind. It was So Much Better than the crap music of the late 70s and 80s. It Changed My Life.
No, he wasn’t a real lord. “Screaming Lord Sutch, 3rd Earl of Harrow” was purely a made up stage name. The UK peerage does not have an Earl of Harrow in any case (there is an Earl of Harrowby, which is a town near Grantham in Lincolnshire. But Harrow (North West London) has never had an Earl.)
@@simonmoore2380 The funny part to me (as an american) about that is that he claims to be the "3rd" earl. Lol, is there such a thing as 3 earls for one area?
NO He was not a Lord - I grew up with DAVID SUTCH In Kilburn London NW6 - We both went to the same school SALUSBURY RD KILBURN - We lived two doors away in Charteris Road Kilburn - He was later sent to a School in Paddington because he was found having it orf with a girl in the school toilets - I moved to Harrow on the Hill - and 6 months later David moved to South Harrow - I worked for him for some time in 1963/64 on the Gun-Towers in the THAMES ESTRUARY ENGLAND - ON RADIO SUTCH 1964 - WE were very good friends for years - RIP DAVID - COLIN DALE RADIO SUTCH 1964 - 2023
