Hi my name is Marco, a former pro opera singer, turned voice actor, turned youtuber. I grew up loving video games and video game music after first discovering them when I was 7 years old and since then I have lived and breathed all things video games. I have a channel all about video game music - the beauty of modern composition, how it allows us to connect deeper to the games we love, and how we can better learn to understand ourselves through it and the experiences it provides.
I actually think that Faust gave himself the name because after regaining a fraction of his sanity he realised the big mistake he made, just like the classical Faust.
dragonspine OST still top tier with immersive soundtrack and that use only landscape in the game for make emotional and nostalgic if you listen this anytime after you met it. yu peng chan is genius to put the theme and use tone for feeling like ice ,cold ,wind in melody and yeah in org this video too.many girl in whitedress that mean pure , snow , wind or anything like that . that amazing and immersive experience for player , personally i think genshin impact is present artstyle more than game they invest to many art from many ref. like folk culture in china ex.lantern rite , old pottery . thank you marco for recap this again (that was elegant like you said that major elegant). sorry for my weak eng user that many mispell .
I don't know if anyone is going to see this comment, but I'd just like to throw this out there: I *largely* agree with the statement that really good video game music can be enjoyed and largely appreciated outside the game. I *largely* agree, since, *usually*, I do find that to be true. However, I don't *completely* agree. I know of one game that, in my opinion, has some really good music that doesn't stand on its own too well. Well, actually, it's a mod for a game, but hear me out. You see, there's a mod for Super Mario 64 called B3313. To put it simply, B3313 is basically meant to feel like a really weird, eerie, fever dream version of an official demo of Super Mario 64 that was playable before Super Mario 64 was finished and released. The mod starts off as mostly a pretty accurate recreation of the demo, but the longer you play the mod, the weirder it gets. Sooner or later whilst playing, you start finding levels and content that were never present in the official demo and were made specifically for the mod. But, most of the completely-custom/original content in the mod is meant to feel like it *could* have been in the official demo (albeit sometimes a bit creepier than what Nintendo would probably make). So, the mod has recreations of unfinished music that was in the demo, but it also has completely original, intentionally-rough-around-the-edges/unfinished-sounding music that is supposed to sound like it *could* have been in the demo (albeit sometimes a bit creepier). And, in my personal opinion, the composers of the mod did a pretty good job. I find that most of the original music really fits the whole intentionally-unfinished (and sometimes eerie) feel of the mod, and for me, the mod just wouldn't be the same without the music. But, since a lot of the music is *meant* to sound unfinished/unpolished, a lot of it doesn't sound too pleasing/"well made" outside of the game. Personally, I consider the music that I don't enjoy listening to outside the mod to be good since I think it does a really good job of fulfilling the purpose that it's supposed to fulfil in the context of the mod. By the way, just to clarify, the mod does have a lot of exceptions--a lot of the music *does* stand on it's own fairly well in my opinion, but, in this comment, I was talking about the music that doesn't for me. Again, I agree with most of the things you say in this video though. Great video!
it's such a strange feeling that we've finally reached the end of a 10 year story. like a really long version of spending days or even weeks playing one game until you finally beat it and have a bittersweet moment as you realize it's all over i won't sit and pretend it was all good. this journey had many peaks and valleys, and while i'm not here to debate which one we had more of, i am glad that this game was able to end on a high note i don't know what's next for the future of this franchise, if there even is anything at all, but above all else; even if i wasn't around for all of it, i'm glad i was a part of the journey of this game and regardless of what happens next i say; See You Starside Guardians
Just going off of my music classes, but isn't it also 3/4 time and 1-a-&-a-3-& for the main motif? That's just a default fun timing. Then there's the Major key, the associated-with-dance instruments... This song was a fun prayer for the god of death and capitalism!
One thing I also love is when at the end the music loops back to part 1 It is as if the main cast has still ONLY been listening to that part while we as the player has had this vision of the future to come. A lot of this trailer is about how the cast experiences what is around them at the moment, As if this is unexplored territory they have yet to see. While the other expansion trailers are more about them already BEING or Having been at the destination and the music is telling the tale. Basically in the old trailers the characters are showing us the players what we're going to experience. But in this new trailer we're all experiening what is to come together.
"She was always waiting for you... why...? why...?" Silent Hill 2 is a master piece, Akira Yamaoka is the goat and THIS scene will live with me forever.
PLEASE somebody tell me the name of the track that plays as You and Ghost deal the final blow to The Witness, Ive listened to Together, Stronger, and Make Your Own Fate, but neither of those have that one peak that im looking for, the one at 14:46
Man 90’s/2000’s rts synth metal just hits different. If I were to recommend another C&C track then I’d probably say the Soviet March from RA3. It was made to sound like the Red Army Choir but with broken Russian. It’s definitely one of my favorite tracks, I remember sitting in the main menu and just listening. It’s a great track that gets your excitement up before you even start playing the game.
I dont think i heard right but wirebugs arent affected by well done steaks, thats only stamina. And Dual Blades are always going to require you to eat becasue they are stamina dependent. To combat that id suggest Dash Juice to help allievate its consumption. And the wire bug system is pretty cool tho i can understand if you arent enjoying it tho i willl say Rise is effectively the handheld version of the series compared to its main line one so it having a diffrent style is par for the course.
The song is very descriptive of what happens in the game. And yes playing the other routes does change quite a bit about what happens. Ultimately all the routes are sad for Edelgard.
Marco? Did you ever watch the video of the guy playing one winged angel during a church sermon? Dude nails it and the church ohrgen makes it sound so cool lol
