Hi, thanks for your query and sorry for the slow reply. Yes indeed all the problems were reaolved and never had anything happen anymore, which, in my himbke opinion, supports my argument for a defect on the QR1 Lite design.
Buy the qr2 for the base and the wheel rim you will thank me later no more dissconection issues. Nvm I see you finally did it! Yay yeah thats the fix for sure. It allows it to stay in more and better. Also please get the alu qr2 for the rim like for real so much better. Even helps details come through due to no flex. When I say no flex I mesn no flex! Everybody should stay away from lites wether its 1 or 2. Ive never used a lite ive always used qr1 since 2019 the alu one ans now im on the dd+ with qr2 but yeah I was never going to get a lite version of either.
Hi! I saw the video you posted 3 months ago and I have the same problem with my wheel at 30 days from the purchase. I would like to know if during this time you have used the QR2 did the wheel disconnect by any chance? I have to know in order to decide whether to buy QR 2 or not. Thank you .
My dd pro still disconnecting after two times returning to them , exact same problem as yours. Took me a long time to get A+ rated on gt and now cannot do daily races because Fanatec’s garbage equipment would lose me races and destroy my rating . Is this really what I gave them 1000 euro for? To be lumbered with a useless piece of metal and plastic . I am filing a claim in small claims court which anyone can do. We don’t have to take this.
Mines the same only got in Oct 23, Two rma returns and them saying that q2 would fix it!! So they are saying I should pay to rectify their defective product! I really regret buying fanatec. It’s going back to them yet again tomorrow. So sick of it .
Why are people still throwing money at this terrible company, look at the amount of play in the wheel when you 'shake' it! I wouldn't pay £400 for this wheel let alone more than double that. People need to man up and start boycotting them ASAP!
I’m having similar issue wheel doesn’t fail but when driving at high ffb wheels loses a bit of torque like it’s to hot or something but I was under the impression dd wheels did not do this any thoughts
Fanatec ihas unfortunately become an abysmally poor company to deal with in regard to after-sales support, customer service and order fulfilment. There are many other quality SR product companies to choose from, I personally won't recommend Fanatec unless and until they get their act together. and demonstrate they actuallyt give a crap about their customers.
Yes I have had mine for one month, now I have this disconnect problem, now I have to by the QR2 upgrade. Original clamp is not good as it clamps on one side. They could fix this issue just buy installing a better clamp which 3rd party's are selling on ebay
Under Dutch law it is up to the seller to keep up the warranty etc., the seller is liable to make sure the warranty and the expected quality of the product they sell is respected. In the NL sellers often think to tell buyers it's up to the OEM to do this and try to get buyers to go to the OEM with problems. Dont know what your laws are but in the NL Fanatec is not responsible, it''s the retailer's problem with how the OEM handles this it should not become the customer's problem. Your a lawyer really?? As a lawyer you should have found out your laws concerning these issues are before going on a rant. Yes, it could be totally trash they sold you, and yes it might be by bad design and/or planned obsolescence and undoable mounting demands that all sound fair, but the law is the law! What is the law mister lawyer??? Why don't you know the law before posting this?? Big fail on your part mister lawyer....
Yeah great… let’s bash a company that is having trouble with its warehouse. Sure communications could be better. But I ordered my gt dd pro and received it 5 days later! I’m loving it so far. Sure it is not cheap… It’s still the best value for money when it comes to a dd ps5 compatible wheel. Good luck to everyone who has issues with there gear. Fanatec is working on it so please be patient.
They’ve had horrible customer service for years. I sold all of my Fanatec gears about five years ago due to horrible rma processes and the fact I had to use it so much. They’ve let it get this bad by investing no resources in that department while at the same time selling more and more product. Maybe if they’d spent some money on providing better service instead of sponsoring Motorsports and paying RU-vidrs to push their products they could’ve prevented all of this and could’ve been a better company.
I was almost about to buy my own Fanatec GT DD Pro just for GT7. My initial problem is the local reseller have almost all of their Fanatec products at 45% markup, but sure I can deal with hefty price tag as long as they can do something to replace/repair defective units. The main issue is that they're NOT affiliated with Fanatec at all. In fact, Fanatec only sells products directly from their official store, and there are no local distributors. Even the local resellers can't do anything about replacements for faulty units as they're also at the mercy of Fanatec. If Fanatec already has logistics and customer service issues, then what can local resellers do? Logitech and Thrustmaster has local distributors who supply their products to local retailers, and claiming warranties are being done thru the retail stores. It's still a pain to wait either 2 weeks or almost a month for a replacement, but you still get it nevertheless (given that it is indeed a defective unit). I'm happy with my Thrustmaster T-GT II, and I don't mind sticking with the Thrustmaster ecosystem as their support is great so far as to help me with the warranty replacement prodecure before. Heck, even MOZA products are sold at a local retailer in our country, so warranty claims can also be done there. If only MOZA has PS5 support, I would buy their products in a heartbeat.
I will never buy fanatec, all my friends have problems. They say it is the best and I believe them, but the quality of their products is not how it should be, especially for that price.
I wish I'd read all the bad press before ordering fanatec, but I was in a rush and thought fanatec was supposed to be good, so ordered, and then had to wait a month after they dispatched my order. Only told me of delays after they'd 'dispatched' and taken my money. Dodgy business. Should have gone Moza.
If it's still possible and you are willing to spend more, cancel your order with Fanatec and order a Asetek La Prima or Forte. I received my order within four days (within Europe). Even when I send a unimportant question to their support I received a really friendly response within three or four hours.
I have more or less the same experience with fanatec . And please anyone who use qr lite don't do it it create a move that can damage the pins . It's not reliable piece of equipment. Don't use it .
Exactly, I've got a g29 and looking to upgrade. I won't be touching fanatec though, shame they have stolen the market for dd on ps5 unless you have nearly £1500 for a logitech Pro it the only choice we have.
My CSL DD just broke yesterday. It just randomly disconnected mid-game and I could smell something burning. Doesn't get recognized by my PC anymore :/ I opened a support ticket to Fanatec but I haven't heard from them yet.
I got my shlt in 6 days. Australia... Mind you it was 650+ bucks for the most basic CSL DD bundle with postage. Loving the hardware, but I hate that this is happening to others
Mine dd pro rattles allot and makes weird cracking noises. first i thought this was normal {never raced on a wheel before} so i let it go... But then it annoyed me allot so i put a piece of cloth between the wheel and base shaft and my goodness.. a whole new experience, zero play and no more weird noises and the ffb feels allot smoother now wow😮 fanatec really dropped the ball here . The QR1 Lite definitely is a huge design flaw and should have never been sold to the public... Were they sleeping when they tested this piece of crap?
U GUYS R SCARING ME ONCE AGAIN... IN THEIR DEFENCE WHEN I BOUGHT MY DD PRO THE BASE SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN DROPPED AMD WAS CRACKED NEAR THE WIRE INPUTS... I WAS QUITE UPSET AFTER PAYING OVER 1500$CAN AFTER CUSTOMS AND TAXES... SO ANYWAY THEY TOOK IT BACK WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS (JUST THE BASE) AND SENT ME A BRAND NEW 1. NO PROBLEMS SINCE THEN. RARELY I HAVE LOST FFB FOR A SECOND BUT OTHER THAN THAT NO ISSUES. LETS PRAY TO GOD THAT MY WHEEL STAYS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER...
Dropped 3500 into the ecosystem to go all in on an upgrade. After 4 weeks I gave up. I realized the amount of terrible issues their hardware has , their horrible RMA system , horrible customer service , horrible logistics, and I was luckily able to cancel my entire order and move on. Now I’m in the cycle of waiting for simagic to be in stock. First time since the 80’s I want something and I simply can not buy it. Trying since October to simply get a full DD system with shifter and brake , round wheel and f1 wheel.

For ages I was planning to get a DD1, but bought a Simucube 2 Pro in the end. Amazing product, very happy with my decision! This company needs to have its arse kicked to teach them a lesson.
You are absolutely wrong on your suspicion. I was never paid to make a video, nor I would accept payment to make something like this, it's a question of principles
I suspect your comment is paid for by scamatec. I'd recommend buying from, moza, simagic, asetek, logitech, thrustmaster, simucube etc. Are you saying that all the fanatec problems everyone is talking about is fake? Lol. Paid fanatec shill, I'm siding with the consumer always no matter which company it is.
If a person has a problem with their qr1 lite they should at the very least offer the qr2 wheel and base upgrade at what it cost them to make it or for free since it's defective. Personally my qr1 lite has worked fine with no problems but I'm always kind of wondering if it will be a problem at some point. I also am not going to buy their qr2 fix because it's 160.00. So essentially I have to pay them to fix a problem with their faulty equipment.
Ordered some stuff on November 25th and I’m still waiting and I’ve emailed them twice trying to change something in my order and still haven’t heard from them. Will never order again from them.
Lots of people complaining about their orders, I guess that they went uncontrollable with the Black Friday sales, it's what I call taking a step longer than their legs allow. No other option but to wait, because for sure your money already on their bank account.
I have been looking for a new manu' for my sim gear having been with TM for my T300 base but i need better now. Thanks to this honest video, I will spend the extra money to get Simagic or Moza going forward. Hate dishonest shitty companies.
@@pjcarochas I believe so. And possibly the fact they used to be the only real option and alot are stuck in there ecosystem. I seen moza has a 3nm base coming for xbox but 3nm isn't very much in my opinion lol.
Here in Australia is the same... I bought a defective DD pro 6 months ago and still waiting to them to make it work... they took it for repair twice... so I bought a refurbished product but paid for a full quality one .... they refuse to replace or redound... very regret to have choose fanatec
I gave up on Fanatec. They are not worth it. They sell the same defective products for years, like the micro usb connection on the CSL DD. They didn't fix it. Like all other failure products. I won't spent any more money on their products. Moza, Asetek, are much better options for the medium user.
Here's my case with Fanatec. Ordered Black Friday a bunch of items including the formula v2.5X and base side qr2. Next day I tried to partial cancel because I saw the December preorder date. They said no, so whatever. December 8 comes around and date is moved to December 15. Emailed them, no response. December 15th comes around and get an email that they oversold the formula v2.5X and i could either cancel the whole order or wait until end of March 2024 for shipment (they don't do partial shipments). If I canceled they said they would provide a 25% off coupon for a future purchase. Now here's the issue: I cancelled over a week ago, no coupon, and even with the coupon my order would cost me just north of $200 more for the same items that I bought on Black Friday. So 6 weeks of waiting so far for something and I will have to spend hundreds more. And what is worse is that as of yesterday 12/27/23 the US store says they are immediately available when last week, when I canceled, they said pre-order for end of March which is what they had told me in an email. Inventory does not just appear like that. If these were on a ship then they would know exactly when the delivery window is. No chance it goes from end of march at earliest to we have some now. I feel like some shady business practice is at work here. I have decided to dump my Fanatec products and go MOZA (R12) or Asetek (TK bundle). I can't see myself investing anymore money into Fanatec and risk being on my own if something goes wrong. Terrible experience all around.
Love my fanatec gear , but my new lodcell was faulty from get go , the 2 week wait for response wad bad enough but then generic emails that end up giving you a silly number or confirmation number they use only to then ask for video evidence etc . Took well over 5 weeks . Everytime we send email its not a human its a generic robot service, beware the 2 week response which they deem as ok really grinds you down . Like i said the fanatec hardware when working is amazing . Just company had reall shitty customer service
I was on the Fanatec website last night and I wanted to buy the BMW wheel but without the Black Friday discount I can't afford a QR2 along with it. I'm bummed. I really wanted that wheel.
The problem comes from the shaft moving forward. Even if tightened at 50 Nm, the clamp cannot prevent it from moving even slightly, which alters the USB-C connexion. When it happens, you have to push back the wheel and connexion get restored but that's not serious. The metal shaft moves inside the plastic mounting, the only solution would be to drill and have a bolt that would keep the two parts together.
Fanatec are an absolute sham. I wholeheartedly regret buying into their ecosystem and I’m now in the process upgrading all my equipment to get away from them. I literally gave up with a warranty claim after weeks/months of trying to sort with their “customer support” if you can call it that?!
