About to start coaching ( excited & scared). Thank you for doing what you do. I loved that:- You can be an introduction to those people outside of the bubble. "Let me see who is my 1st new fan?"
Loved hearing this I think I have been through all those phases over the years. I laughed out loud when you spoke about comparing courses with other teachers. I felt so seen 😂😂
Thank you for this, Lou, very helpful. I feel that it can be daunting to create tracks and courses that stand out, and especially to have users engage with the content. While I find the IT community welcoming and interacitve especially through live events, I have yet to work on getting a similar level of engagement in my courses. In this video, you mentioned groups. Do you find it beneficial to create a group on IT, and if so, is it a public or private one?
Great question. I think they have gone south over the years, but if you facilitate it well, you can keep it lively. Definitely do public. If nothing else, it's another place to share your content. Rooting for you!
@@lou-redmond To be honest, I'm not sure what I was asking at the time I posed the question. I've been at the mic all of my adult life either in the pulpit, terrestrial & internet radio in the old days, Zoom, you name it. Technology is changing so fast and opportunities are simply amazing. I think I was just caught in a moment of frustration re: shifting with the rapid tide of change, learning curves, etc. Again, thank you for your valuable information, I've subscribed and I'm sure I'll find more of what I need as I go through your channel.
Lou, I so appreciate this. The "how to" noise about Insight Timer is increasing. Thank you for so much valuable, actionable information that feels really doable. I didn't feel like I was in a vacuum powered funnel pulling me into the big upsell. Of course you want to be paid for your knowledge and work in putting it out there - BUT - you actually come across like you care, consequently making me want to follow and donate. I'll find you (your Gratitude Wall) on IT and do that. Excited to check out your website and podcast. Took lots of notes. Thanks again. BTW, I'm in NJ also.

Hi Lou and thanks for this. All valid points and ones I do understand. I tuned in today because I don’t yet have a lot of content on Insight Timer, but received 2 low reviews (vague and not helpful) on 2 different practices by the same person a week or more apart. Why do they return to listen to another practice? 🤔 Like why would you go see Fish not just once, but twice? 😂 Yes, it’s about their inner workings/turmoil and I can let that go. But this ultimately impacts the visibility of my work (most will scroll past a low rated practice.) It’s frustrating for this reason. And one I will certainly need to learn from and move on ☮️
Hey Katie, sorry for the late reply, I got married and have been traveling. :) That makes NO sense! Likely their form of trolling because of their own stuff. I hear you on it impacting the work, I'd recommend rating it yourself and another friend rating it to give it a boost, AND still KEEP creating, keep creating, keep creating! Hi :) thanks for this meditation. Maybe a little note for the next ones… it started really well, however every 5 min there were advertisements which took me out of this. Maybe adding ads only at the beginning the meditation so it’s not interrupted with youtube ads.
Hi Lou, what an amazing insight! Truly appreciate this. What I'm curious though is "How do we get in front of people?" With so many courses, they might not even find our course no matter how great we've created the course. Is your current number of plays solely relying on Insight Timer algorithm, or do you actively promote your IT courses outside of IT as well? Would appreciate your feedback on this, thank you!
Great Questions! I wouldn't focus on promoting courses outside of IT however, I would encourage building an audience and offerings off the app. As far as getting your course in front of people on IT, Optimizing your title for the niche of person, content, and search function is important. Beyond that, the way to grow students is to go live on similar topics to your course, and then promote your course or free/premium tracks as a way to go deeper. Continue building the library of free tracks. Hope that's helpful!
