I'm trying to decide on Percy or Remflex gaskets.. you showed yours leaking with the soapy water test.. then said they were decent? i'm confused.. leaking shouldn't be decent...
I guess I should have done a follow up, These gaskets require a heat cycle before final tightening . After I was able to heatcycle and retighten they worked fine ... .
Traded a totaled pickup for a 72 GT 4-door grocery getter w/351 W in 1981. Most comfortable car I ever drove. My inseam is 36”. Had all the leg room I needed. Floated like a boat down the highway.
I think that Elon took too long to release the truck, Rivian beat him to be available to the public, their trucks are nice but now the Cyber has competition
Love this car. Everyone bashing the 428 should go watch the 67 GT500 with a 428 running stock cam specs and valves running sub 10s. Cant take an in away from a 427 ( I’ve had both plus 429 CJ…) but the 428 CJ is a great performer ( mine was a 69 Mach One C-6 car.)
I'm not sure what was the problem ,but I think it's all sorted out now. We changed the fluid and filter and did a band adjustment, double checked the shifter cable adjustment.
1.42 on that pass but I believe Tom has had in in 1.30s . I think that day Tom was just doing some testing. The car is a 9.0 car it's just a lot of things gotta work for these cars to go .
Not apples to apples, a stock '18 Mustang vs Stock 72 Gran Torino would not be a good comparison . The Mustang GT has almost 5 decades of technology. The fact that a modified Jalopy is performing at the a similar level on any matrix is very cool. I think the point is lost on some folks. Modern cars are amazing no questions about that but there is something to be said about building something in your garage with a low budget that can compete and beat it's contemporary rival on the track ..
Not sure I would be doing backflips with a race car sporting a BBF and a huge weight advantage versus obviously a pretty much box stock 2018 5 owe. Shoulda, coulda, woulda, didn't.
No one Iis doing backflips ,is that some sort of dig or insult . Why bother commenting if you are that underwhelmed ? I have never claimed that my car is all that , I enjoy it and others also . @@burningblue1254 I guess you're comment sounded like you were saying the opposite . So now I confused 🤔. If we were have a discussion about cars , and mine in particular I could get the point . BTW my car isn't a race car it's a stripped down muscle car with some minor engine modifications and suspension mods and specialized tires for drag racing . Nothing exotic or too costly. Stock the car is capable of 16 second 1/4 mile times . It's now an 11 second car. But it's not very street able. Mainly because no $$ we're spent to ensure reliability nor comfort and handling outside the simple task of going straight and sounding and looking badass . So it's basically a bucket in the traditional sense . As in T bucket we're stripped down cars that just went fast and looked cool because the kids couldn't afford to do much else .
@GODZILLA TORINO RACING its just my poor writing style! I think the Torino was a great body style and never got the respect it deserved. The yellow scj was always a favorite of mine.
