God is still reaching out to people with these songs. I am almost a life long follower to these guys. The concerts I attended as a teen help shape me into the person I am today. Thank you!
Lance I don’t know if you’ll ever read this When I was a young boy David and the Giants were a huge part of my life I grew up in a family that served God and my father was our church worship leader You inspired me to pursue being a drummer I’m over 40 years old now and have been playing drums for Christ and Christ only since the age of 12 Our family still serves our community church and several family members are now involved in corporate worship in our community and even around the globe Thank you for choosing to give your talent back to the one who gave it to you. We’ll worship together one day in Heaven !
Yeah lol I read them from year to year lol. I added this video ages ago. Since then I’ve went through so many different new gmail accounts trying cut out all the nonsense. Man thanks so much telling me this. I needed to read this today for sure!!! God Bless Brother!!! Keep On Rockin’ For The Rock!!!
Sometimes we refuge to give our talent to the world, just for serving to the one who is the only reason to give our best... You have laid down and surrender your talent to the lord, so the church of God may be blessed with this heavenly music... Your treasures in heaven will be beyond your imagination...may the lord keep you anointing your talent
I grew up listening to all my dad’s music and this was one of his favorites which soon became one of my favorites, here I am 20 years old now and I still love it! I have become more aware of how deep and true the lyrics are as I have gotten older, I am so happy I have gotten to know this band as a child and still enjoy the music now!
Hi ! David , I just stopped by to say Hello ! Love your music, and I am sending , Love Bunches , I would love to see you ! Sending love , Blessings and prayers. Your ol ' friend ! Dianne Davis , Herring Love You , David !!
Back in 94 I saw them live and the drummer gave me his sticks. I've been playing drums since I was 4 years old. I'm 42 years now and I still have the drum sticks he gave me.
Hotel Condor City ummmmm that’s another set of Huff’s believe it or not!! Haha Dan and Dave Huff aren’t any relation to this side of the Huff’s!! Great people and players though.
@@LanceHuff Good grief! I just now discovered your reply today, 2-18-2023. Mail tends to disappear into a black hole due to so much spam, etc. Re: "yeah still whack em..." - This is the first time I've heard it put that way, ha! So - Are you guys still playing out? I live in St. Louis, Mo. It would be a real treat if you guys played here! God bless you and yours, buddy!
Here's the lyrics: Most everyone is asleep now With dreams well on the way Why is it that tonight keeps me on guard For in times past, I've slept like a baby Dreaming too of the morrow's day (Tomorrow's day) But now I'm kept from slumber By something inside my heart And it's calling me with urgency To watch as well as pray And as long as night will tarry With attention I must wait For in an hour not known to any Will come the break of day And the restlessness of the night Will be done away There's a growing tension inside of me To wake the neighborhood Though many will scorn the hour being so late Still I know I must take the risk Of being misunderstood For the darkness of night holds evil Only seen when you're awake And it calls to me in urgency To sound alarm to stand To say that God is calling us To awaken while we can For in an hour not known to no one Night will be destroyed by day And the evil deeds of the night Will be done away Hey, restless, can you sleep tonight Something's going wrong, got to make it right Wake up now before you sleep the night away And it calls to me in urgency To sound alarm to stand To say that God is calling us To awaken while we can For in an hour not known to no one Night will be destroyed by day And the evil deeds of the night Will be done away Hey, restless, can you sleep tonight Something's going wrong, got to make it right Wake up now before you sleep the night away Hey, restless, can you sleep tonight Something's going wrong, got to make it right Wake up now before you sleep the night away Hey, restless, can you sleep tonight Something's going wrong, got to make it right Wake up now before you sleep the night away.
So glad I had the honor to have met you all years ago. Your music inspired me in the 70's and 80's, cannot tell you how much your music meant during my early youth. God bless you all, would love to see you guys blow it up at radio city music hall and it be streamed live all over the world! Love you guys so much!
I love this song, but the low budget video takes away from the song. Same with Breakaway from Idle Cure. So sad the money wasn't there in Christian music when the lyrics were so much better.
Some could say that if you have to do high budget vids than the song must not be that good. There is nothing wrong with the vid. The great song would overpower a crappy low budget vid.
ehrldawg Haha I’m a little late to the party but yeah you’re right. Not sure who the fella was that posted the low budget crap but d&g lived and still do on Faith, not on any then record company backing them. Also most of not all concerts were love offering and well Christians arent to giving or weren’t then. The video if I’m not mistaken was donated maybe by a company in Tulsa. I need find that out. There’s so much and so many reason d&g chose to follow the Lord instead of an artist agency or management company. Anyway what you said couldn’t have been said any better. I’m gonna tell dad (David Huff) about this. Haha he’ll for sure get a kick out of this comment. LOL
This is my favorite DATG's Songs ever. This would truly describe the mood, music, and feeling I have when I am awaken by something stirring in my spirit.
David Stahl: Some would question your intention behind your comment. But I see it differently. Either you know him personally or the Love of the Spirit of the Lord is on display here. If I'm correct, your comment attests to the Love of God which inhabits a true believer. PTL!
saw them 25yrs ago in local Church. would love to see them come back to the new york area again. they Rocked the Church and I was a metal head n nvr heard of'em b4. glad I bought a few Albums that day.😁
A couple years later Jay became the Bass player in a band that he and his second cousin Gary formed along with guitarist Joe Don Rooney called Rascal Flatts.
