there is a legend that the girl was the only one of all the men who was the bravest and made a bet that she could go to that cave at night, the proof that she was there would be a piece of wood that she would nailed it into the ground, since it was night she accidentally nailed it to her dress, thinking that something is holding her in the cave when she felt. That something is holding her she died of heart attack
Hi, from a Bosnian-Canadian. I can't believe you had sushi in Sarajevo(I didn't even know there was sushi place in Bosnian) next time please get cevapi. I hope that rest of your trip goes better. Where are you going next?
Greetings from Bitola! The guy on 10:30 was singing something about a sad love story, which is a song from a Bosnian singer. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xSNA3lwbZp8.html . Also the line of people that you spotted in front of the building across, it was people waiting for new documents with the new "formal" name of our country. It was very late made public to the masses that we will need to change our IDs/Passports/DL and so on, so there was a line in front of that building for like 8-9 months. The situation with the stores is bizarre for non-citizens because nothing works on Sundays(Easter Sunday), Easter Monday is also a public holiday. On Wednesday was the election day, so almost everyone in the country got a day off. In addition to those non-working days, majority of the people, took the Tuesday off so they can enjoy a holiday of 5-6 days without spending too much days of their annual leave. Hope you had a great time!
Thank you so much for sharing all of that. Whatched the video, what a beautiful song! Now the lineup makes a lot of sense. Also, must be a big pain to do all of that. We definitely should have found out before hand if there were any holidays and also how Macedonians celebrate their holidays. Now we know for next time! Have a great day!
Thats archeological site not ruins. The excavation is still in process.Word greek is not mention in any artefact, never existed before 19 th and 20 th British colonials. Greeks are mixture of peiple a hybrid made by the colonials in 20 the cent, Masters 5% and workers from northern africa and middle east 95%. Dimotiki language is invented by german scholars in 19 th cent.nonsuch thung as greeks or greek language exists till very this day. Macedonia is eternal. All artefacts say Macedonian Macedonians and Macedonia nithing else.No matter where you go on the Macedonian peninsula all the ancuent sights are Macedonian.
Lovely video! Just a tip if you come again- There is also a plane and buses from Sofia to Burgas. Even the buses have air cons and take the journey for around 4 hours. Bulgarians also avoid their trains as much as possible. They are nowhere near as these in Central and Western Europe. 😅
Thank you for the tip. We have taken a plane before, but wanted to save some money this time. Our daughter has a hard time with a bus ride 2 hours or more. Maybe next time we can take a bus to Plovdiv, Stara Zagora and then on to Burgas.
Thanks for sharing , I was there 12 years ago , it's a beautiful Country , The Macedonian people are very nice , Ohrid is a really nice place too . I noticed greek trolls on every Macedonian video clips , just goes to show what kind of people they are . I hope you enjoy your stay ,
great video but please correct the title. Its North Macedonia (Vardarska Banovina). Macedonia is in Greece. Hope you visit Thessaloniki,Vergina,Pella and Alexanders birtplace Aegae.
@@slowtravelblog avoid the city center. There is nothing really to see except the White tower and the sea. Try Kastra (old town) and the spot around the opera house.
They already went to Thessaloniki , that was called Solun . They didn't like it , pick pocket crime . If you watched ther clips . Typical Greek . Are you a Anatolian Christian turk settler into Southern Macedonia or just a greek troll , that doesn't have a life .
It's Macedonia the whole peninsula. The present hybrids fabricated colonies never existed before. It's Solun City and it's Macedonian.Dont avoid anything, everything is special. By the way hybrid your history is in Africa not on Macedonian peninsula.
The most beautiful city in Macedonia! We love our beautiful people in Bitola, they’re so kind and positive people. I love their energy and i always feel so loved and appreciated by them. I love Macedonian culture it’s so unique, i never felt such a wonderful vibes in other countries like in Macedonia. The food is amazing , they have so much traditional dishes and everything is perfectly made. The most attractive people are Macedonians, especially womens they’re always looking so gorgeous. I appreciate that they are very hardworking people and always positive with big hearts! I’m sure that you have been able to feel the same way i felt when I was there. Have a great time in the best country! Greetings from Switzerland.
Greetings! Macedonia is indeed a beautiful country with beautiful people! We have now visited the country a couple of times and I am sure we will be back in the future.
Macedonian food , the word Greek never existed before 1821 , did it yunan . Stop looking over the fence and help ypur homeless Greeks , Macedonia doesn't have homeless .
Nice video greetings from an Albanian Michigan. Where are you guys from your accent is American just wondering but it’s not important. Welcome to Albania ❤🇦🇱
@@slowtravelblog yes indeed welcome to my country believe it or not I get lost in my home city Tirana born and raised so drastically is changed since from 1997 when I left. ❤️
My father lived there for several years in the 90s while teaching at the new American University. The city is pronounced "Blah-go-ehv-grad". He loved the people. He asked that we put on his headstone, "He spoke a little Bulgarian". He doesn't have a headstone, but the quote made it into his obituary. Hope that sufficed.
When we were there in the mid-nineties, Bulgaria was painfully struggling from the boot of communism. When we went to a restaurant, they would hand us a menu, but the answer to our orders everywhere we went was "Nyama" - there isn't any. Tripe soup was always available then though.
Pronunciation noted. We are always saying "малко български(Little Bulgarian)" when we are in Bulgaria lol The selection in the restaurants has improved a lot in the years since the 90's.
I don't know if you noticed but the groups from Eastern Bulgaria (mostly those that you said look like birds) are dressed in traditional female clothes in addition to the masks. These groups also have the "priests", the "bears", the wedding procession and the seeding and plowing rituals. Obviously, it's not real priests, it's for fun and a little bit of good natured mocking of the religious organization and everything else. Some groups have the policeman as a character, others a politician, etc. I always find so funny how the guys chose the biggest and burliest man to play the bride 😂
it is indeed ugly lol but what's the point of going across the ocean to call a city "ugly"? if i ever visit detroit i won't say it's "america's ugliest city" but rather "the city of eminem" lol or something positive...
Once we took the time to discover the place we really loved it! Very nice in the center and the people were very friendly. Our first time seeing it was from the highway on our way to Sandanski over a year ago and we only noticed the industrial areas and closed down factories.
When we first drove by the city over a year ago, all we could see from the highway was the industrial area and closed down factories. Once we got into the center of the city it was much more alive.
We also spent 2 nights there on our way to Rila monastery. Being a University town and lots of young people I think made it so friendly. And also cats are everywhere and they don't understand English 😂
I learned how to swim right here , we used to climb on those trees and jump , god how i mis this place . Thanx for the vid and i hope u enjoyed yourselfs in our paradise....
@@slowtravelblog im glad u liked my country . I think that the whole world is beautiful , but we Albanians, we have two things that makes us special and unique. First , here , u are now at the beach and lets say u get bored , if u drive 40km u can find yourself at mauntain top at 2000m above the sea ....and 2-nd , ( i dont know if or how much possibillities did u had to interact with ppl ) we are propably the most hospitable ppl on earth , in 2nd world war we saved the lives of 3000 jews by hiding them in our houses even though if the germans founded out we got punished as well , ( and a lot of us got killed for doin so ) . And we saved even 20000 italian soldiers from the german nazis just becouse they were left here in our land our home , even though italians invaded us right before the germans . Can u imagine French ppl helping 20000 germans after what they did in France.... Anyway , i hope i didnt bored you , i said it all so that u know something about the ppl too...wish u the best . Respect
Depends on who you ask. My husband is always wearing a t-shirt, so not very reliable lol. When we were there in mid November it reached a high in the low 20's Celsius / low 70's Fahrenheit. May till October is probably good for t-shirts for most people. As for changing money, we don't have other money to change over, so we use the ATMs.
Don’t make the same mistake others make. Berta predates the ottomans by millennia and as a matter of fact there is not one record that shows ottomans built one city during their occupation but tried to destroy everything they could. These are Albanian cities and towns built by Albanians and not ottomans. I have never heard of ottoman architecture. Constantinople was not built by ottomans. Ottomans copied and added to it over the years. People post garbage online!!!
@@zanabanci1943 Albania was never completely conquered by the Ottomans, the Mirdita region was independent... ,,the territories inhabited by Albanians were governed by ethnic Albanians in the Ottoman period,,Albania was never inhabited by Turkish populations then there were also the independent states created by Albanian pashas before the creation of the modern Balkan states
