how are the physics, calculus, and orgo classes? I committed to UCSB for bios-psych as a transfer for the fall 2024 quarter. I did great in chem/bio/stats/research methods so far but scared of the difficulty at UCSB. (ps: i only took algebra in hs but was able to get A's in CC).
I also am biopsych, welcome to UCSB! I think organic chem is the most rigorous of those courses you mentioned. UCSB has a lot of resources to help and good grades in all are absolutely attainable with discipline and extreme effort.
Hi Ella! I was accepted as 2024 freshman in UCSB as a pre-bio major. Can you recommend a residence hall closer to the science building and which dining hall is better? I heard that manza is very nice but it's too far from bio building.
Hi! Yes, I would recommend any of the Chi 5 Dorms which includes Anacapa, Santa Cruz, San Miguel, San Nic, and Santa Rosa. Those are as close as you can get to stem buildings and the library, hope this helps!
There is no pre-med major in college, more that you declare a specific "track/path" and complete the required courses. But yes UCSB has great pre-health paths and resources. And yes, you can start it in your first year.
Once you receive housing contract, you may apply. The dates for the application are on the ucsb housing website. You may also choose what size meal plan you want then, options: 5, 10, 14, and 19 or 21 meals a week I believe. Stay tuned for an in depth financials and costs video!
Yes! you are allowed things on the wall however no holes can be made. Command strips work well, be careful when removing tho as they can take off the paint!

I brought my coffee maker as did a lot of people. However they don't allow most kitchen accessories, but there are no dorm checks and I never had any issues with having mine there.
No bc when you mentioned the weather istg I’m going up there this Saturday for the STEP program and one of the mentors was all like it’s gonna be in the 90’s 😭
the dorms do not come with mini fridges, you have the options of buying your own or renting one from the school. you can also rent one with your roommates if you'd like. hope that helps!

@@user-rf1xg7rz5u No this video was recorded at the end of last quarter, Move-in for the dorms are sept. 23-24 this year as school wont begin until the 28th. however the earliest move-in date to my knowledge is the 21st. I will likely be posting another move in vlog in the upcoming months so stayed tuned!
