i just bought a 99 e46 328i it has the same shifter and it has been doing the no man’s land shift + it already has some slop in the shifter, i wanna replace bushings bc it’s scaring me, i’ve gotten stuck trying to go from 3-4, 4-5 on the highway
The box port is too small thats why its sounds like a blower aka chuffing lol make the port area bigger and you will get more out put and less chuff make its 16 inches of port area per cube
No chuffing. It was that I didnt put all the sub screws in, so it was not a perfect seal. Otherwise, this thing sounds GREAT. With that said... I may build a second box and do a bigger port as I want to test my original design without losing the current box I have. So... video coming soon :)
I remember when I did this my first time trying to rebuild a band pass box (I’m 22 with like no experience) I’ve always wondered how they did it properly
@@prjctgarage4457 I couldn’t agree more. Now that I think abt it I didn’t use clamps or wood glue 😭or liquid nail (I didn’t replace the inside of the band pass n that’s what fell apart)
@@prjctgarage4457 I never understand when people say they only had the budget for skar when sundown has a budget line that’s cheaper and WAYYYY out performs the skar everytime
I have a stock electrical on my 2018 RAM 3.6L. Running a Memphis 1500.1 mono amp to a DeafBonce SA-302 12" with 2000 RMS and it SLAMS in an SPL box. Voltage drops to low 13's in full slam. Thinking of adding a 75x4 watt amp for my upgraded door 6x9s. You think Alt upgrade if the voltage drops more, or a battery in the back to help the sub amp? I know mid and highs won't draw lots of juice for a daily driver.
To be honest, I’m not an expert on electrical. I’ve dabbled with wiring outside of audio (still working through chassis and engine harness for the e36). What I’d say is look into a capacitor OR, upgrade the battery itself to something with more power. Customer support at Antigravity would likely have a better answer. They are pricy, but you may be able to just get a higher output battery, rather than run 2. Working on getting an affiliate link with them, will be in the description once we got it.
Deep cell battery, upgrade your alt and put in a capacitor or multiple. Do all 3 and you won't have issues. Just make sure to do your math for the capacitors. Realistically, your alt is probably fine if you're not running your amps to max all the time, if you have a deep cell.
@@Playswithfire3782 Yes I really only blast at the end of the day on the way home, and always turn down at the lights out of respect to other drivers. My family says they hear coming a block away. I'll get a Mechman Alt after this dies, I think 220Amp is my stock alt rating, and I'm running an Optima Yellow top. Thank you for the input friend.
Learned my lesson on installing Clazzio leather in my Tacoma, getting Katzkin's for the Tundra and not going to do DIY it. My hands, fingers, arms and shoulders were killing me. They look great and can't wait to get them installed.
Awesome video! I have the same truck..just went through this myself. .I'm went with a Kicker box with 10" subs pretty compact unit but it sounds pretty good. Wish I would have come across this video before hand I bet yours sounds much better than mine.
Looks great. I think I’ll pay to have this installed. I plan on ripping the carpet out and rubber type flooring installed. I have dogs and the carpet and cloth get nasty.
Nice Job. I just got Katzkin Leathers to replace the awful "leathers” the dealer installed in my Prius that did not hold up well at all. Did you need a special socket for the bolts that holds the airbag clips to the seat? I saw one video and they needed a reverse torx socket to loosen those bolts. I’m just trying to gather together the tools I need before I dive in. Also, great tip on the zip ties. I’ve installed upholstery using hog rings before and I was really dreading that. Have they held up well?
Killer video, loved being able to see the fitment of these wheels. Got a set for my E46 wagon and didn’t think to look on RU-vid until they came in. 6 spokes look great on the E36!
I have a 2015 crewmax and just had Skar VD-10 2 ohm shallow mount subs in a ported box installed. They hit hard and give out a ton of boom. You can definitely feel them back there and it will shake the mirrors and cab if you really crank on them. I also purchased the enclosure through Skar. Just an fyi if your rear window rolls down you’ll have to do a slight modification or your passenger side rear seat won’t lift up.
Maybe you said in the vid and I missed it.. but what color combo is this? Specifically the stitching color. I’ve been messing with black with silver or cement stitch.. I don’t think they have an actual white color as a choice. Love the combo. Great vid and content. Gonna tackle this eventually. Thank you.
I'm struggling with the middle front seat,. Any tips on getting the edge to roll/ double over so it stays in the groove? Looks like you also have the 6 passenger.
Finally had time to get at it today. I started with the cover inside out so I didn't have to double it over. I did top and one side then folded it over to cover the seat. Then the other side went on fairly easy but the bottom was a fight. Had to compress the cushion and stretch the leather, but I got it and it all looks great. I'm adding seat heaters so the driver and passenger are next, but I think those will be smooth compared to the jump seat.
Nice fitment, Im trying to get the same in front too. Could you tell me what ET is your wheel, how wide is it, camber, what tire size are u running, and size of spacers?
Sounds like you’ve been where I’ve been in the past. The only difference is I haven’t tackled my 2016 CrewMax yet...which is why I’m here now. Appreciate the info!
Great video. Do you think if you made a fiberglass enclosure and stuck that skar 8in firing downward it would fit?? I’ve got a ‘19 crewmax and have been dying to get a good 8in to fit.
OOF, not sure. I guess if your port is still facing forward, is should work. The size of that magnet alone is just toooo much for the crewmax haha. I considered modifying the bolt hole points to accomidate... but I gotta strap kids into that back seat :)
How much was the cost for just the seats and how much was the cost for the heated seat option, what was the cost for the gel option? I want this same setup except I want the ventilated option as well.
This is honestly a super good quality video man, can’t believe you don’t have more subs. Gained one today! Keep up the good work, definitely doing this to my tundra.
