My name is Andy and I'm a Korean American (KAm) that is a little outdated in this online world (a "boomer"-type, if you will). I wanted to learn about all things new and upcoming, especially with regards to Korean music/entertainment.
Faster doesn't automatically mean better, but it definitely means harder. Exponentially so. How you have been a kpop fan for 30 years? That's me and rap. Asa's rap in Forever is by far the most impressive of raps BM has put to track yet. Probably of anyone in YG for that matter. Speaking from a strictly technical viewpoint of course-- everyone has their own taste after all. I just wish it were longer... as with all their rap verses lol. But at the same time I'd also agree that Batter Up is probably my favorite rap verse from RukAsa as well.
What's stale is these reactors thinking all YG songs are "typical" YG yet a high percentage of their songs don't follow this "formula". Every song type has a formula. 2NE1 and Bigbang's biggest songs are almost exclusively slower or more emotional songs. And only about 1 out of 6 Blackpink songs are like this...just pre releases or title tracks that want to generate excitement. Also stale...other companies pumping out endless streams of forgetful, boring, stereotypical Kpop or chasing trends and not creating a whole lot. 10 sec in and already removing him from my algorithm...congrats.
It’s not really nice to make videos saying korea smells bad and saying that the streets are disgusting then just don’t be in Korea if you don’t like it. You’re getting a dislike
You said about Lisa’s dance to others members of blackpink. Of course Lisa dance better because she’s a main dancer. When we talk about vocals of course Rosé is way more better than Lisa because she’s a main vocal. What are talking about? They have their own main position in the group. Actually many people praised Jennie and Rosé dance. In their dance practice many people praised rosé for her quality in dance. Stop making comparisons with the artists. They good in their main position.
For me yg and their artists are the only ones interesting me in kpop specially these days when idols are overusing autotune and can't even sing their songs real live.. i don't want yg to leave their signature music style cause that would only make kpop boring..they are the only company with such exciting music and artists that can give worthy real live performances..the party sides of yg music makes it so much fun in live concert..
I got really bored watching this guy's reaction videos. I've watched many reaction videos from different channels and his a first i got really bored. Not gonna watch in this channel again.🥱
Rora vocals is so mesmerizing like aurora that's why for the first time in history YG gave a member name Rora (her real name Lee dain) she was the longest trained member she joined when she was 10yr only 💗
About that starting young argument, even in every sports everyone starts young, look at Messi, Ronaldo etc. Btw, MJ, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and movie stars like Natalie Portman, Macauly Culkin started really young! Your concern is based on half baked knowledge and you sound Woke!!!
Agreed, I sometimes confused Chiquita & Rora voices but, their ending voices are different and Rora's is a bit deeper..😅 Rest of vocalists are so distinctive I can recognize at the first word even rappers, too.
I also completely agree with you on the average thing. Over time as kpop has gotten bigger with more people trying to become idols, it has resulted in filler members not being a thing anymore in top groups really. But with BM they take it to another lvl with every member at least being a lead in something.
The biggest thing about them is. Whether you love or hate their music everyone agree's they are very talented. I personally think NMIXX is the most talented since Lily and Haewon are another tier of vocalist. But to counter that, Babymonster are mostly minors and can only improve. Their rap line is also the strongest among GG's as long as I can remember. But a big thing about them that people praise that is already above industry standard is their stage presence, they perform like veterans of the industry and frankly, some of the members out preform some idols who have been in the industry for a decade.
Hey KAM, first time watching your reaction. With regard to their height, and believe me I did the research on this, here is what I found was the most consistent... Rora and Rami are 5-8, Asa and Pharita are 5-7, Chiquita and Ahyeon are 5-6 and Ruka is 5-5 (although I think ruka might be a bit shorter than that). That said, their height differs slightly depending on the site posting it. Also note, and you did make mention of this, they all have different size heels to make them look almost the same height during the "It's Live" performance.
I think Pharita is close to Rora/rami in height while Chiquita, Ahyeon and Asa are around the same height and ruka the shortest. I would guess 5'8 for the tall 3 with the taller 2 approaching 5'9, 5'7 for chiquita, 5'6 for Ahyeon and Asa, and 5'5 for Ruka, maybe lower.
@@Paradoxious You could be right. It is so hard to find accurate info on them and harder to tell by looking at them because they always wear different sized heels/soles on their shoes.
@@roberttemme6162 Yea, but what is clear the top 3 are around the same, ruka is by far the shortest. I think the order is Rora/Rami/Pharita - Chiquita/Ahyeon/Asa -Ruka
Rora is a Siren. Her voice has a different effect on men. Falcetto, soft notes, power notes does not matter even her talking voice makes you feel calm. Rora was the most famous and successful member and the true all-rounder. Here is Rora's pre-YG resume. 1. Actress - was in 5 K-dramas. (her brother is also a successful child actor) 2. TV personality - was a regular on Man vs child cooking show 3. Chef - see above as she actually beat adult professional chefs They show her making a professional level cake for Rami's birthday in the Introducing Haram video. 4. Musician - Concert winning pianist. Also plays violin and gayageum 5. Model - was a very successful child model for years and had brand deals 6. Singer/entertainer - Was in group USSO Girls with the girl from New Jeans 7. Rapper - The very first thing said about Rora in her Introduction video was by the YG staff manager who described her as All-Rounder (meaning she can rap) and Rora has described herself as an all-rounder many times. 8. Science genius - Rora was a finalist in Korea's National Science competition. 9. Athlete - Mentioned in the Forever behind the scenes video when Ahyeon could not keep up with her in the running scene. This is why Rora did not tryout for YG BabyMonster project. She was the only one actively recruited. The first thing she talked about in her introduction video was being called by YG to join the project. This is also why YG was not worried when Rora messed up her first monthly evaluation and he told her, "Don't cry, it was cute". Rora is the literal definition of All-Rounder. If you look up videos showing these things like her dramas and Man vs Child appearances you will have some reaction content that nobody else is thinking of doing. You shouls also do their Introduction videos and episodes of Last Evaluation and see their process.
This honestly confuses me. I’ve noticed that whenever YG drops a new song-especially the new gens like BM and Treasure-the reaction is always either, "Oh, it’s so YG" for BM, or "This doesn’t sound YG" for Treasure. And it almost always comes with some negative undertone. It’s making YG fans feel like no matter what YG puts out, the hate is just super forced. YG is known for being a hip-hop label, and they’ve never said they’re changing that. I think the only real exception is AKMU, who already had their own unique style before joining YG. So, what do people really expect from a hip-hop-focused company? And then there’s the whole thing with Meovv. People were hyped for their debut because they’re from TBL with Teddy, but when their music didn't match those expectations (because it sounded too much like YG), YG got blamed again. Like, seriously, what’s up with that???
The complaining about YG's songs confuses me too for all the reasons you pointed out. Also really annoys me when people are like 'YG free the girls from your repetitive music.' It's common knowledge YG has a certain DNA with their music, and many trainees train with YG specifically because they like that. If the artists didn't want to do YG music they wouldn't train and sign with YG
For real tho..when treasure debuted it was the 'yg lost their color' then after that " its too yg " then theres "im hoping for yg color"..treasure have been doing all kinds of genre and the reactions would be back and fort of those..yg is the only company out there that is interesting for me cause they actually got a lot of songs from different genre that i can relate to and they got the real arytist that can really give the best live performances worthy of every single penny fans pay.
