this time reading found two new things 1 The number of פר is decreasing day by day from 13. but the other goats or sheep not change. maybe old sages would have some explaination this. 2 about the meaning of משפט here I feel more like a ratio, like how much meat eating match how much bread. Just according to the historical ratio, so translated as tradition. But in fact, there must be a perfect ratio for matching meat and bread.
At 41:20 you say he’s a priest even though he’s not a Jew. Are you also calling levites Jews? Curious as to how you define Jew. Not trying to cause strife. Thanks for the video.
Jew today generally means all the physical descendants (and converts) to the Jewish civilization. It's derivation in English is from the Greek word which meant: Judean. If you listen to more of my stuff on the channel you will hear me explain in several videos that most of us Jews today are from Judah, 8% are from Levi (since there were Levites living in Judah ie there were Judeans who were Levi's) and some very small small percentage of all the other tribes within our midst. In the video you are commenting on, I also commented how Malkhitsedeq is himself not a Jew. Also, I'll often explain that in a language which we have a snapshot of it's literature over a 1000 year period (the Hebrew bible) changes, has dialects and sometimes a word is used differently. Shalom
Beautiful teaching Rav. Question about Yeshua and saying I am. Could it relate to the phrase blessed is He who comes in the Name and there is only one Name by which we are saved, might Yeshua be bringing just that much more reverence to HaShem? As in a stern reminder of the holiness of His Name?
Like Yom Kippur? Also the covering of the Ark was called כַּפֹּרֶת which pointed to Christ’s provision of atonement. Christ’s blood covers the Law, which was in the Ark.
Even so, G-d is not a liar so when he says to do something for eternity, we cannot play fast and loose with it. Hence the 4th commandment, Saturday is the eternal sabbath "oht hi` l'olam"
Thank you for a word a day. Sometimes I can’t see the word at the margins which are covered by words like Like Share n your head. 😅 Thank you anyway as I’m learning how to read Biblical Hebrew.
haha i usually have hotkeys to move my head out of the way as I'm reading :) yeah i heard that people watching on smaller devices, like phones youtube sometimes covers the right side up with menu items. Since I became aware of this I usually try to "pad" it a bit on the right. Was this video also covered some?
It's "Kach" the "ch" is like in the Scottish word "Loch". Kach is a command from the verb LaQaCH לקח (to take) so Kach-na = "take now" You are right that "na" can mean please but this is usually when one is speaking to G-d. When he is the one speaking we usually nuance it as "now." It can mean either one of those things so context will tell.
Boker tov from ground zero of the latest hurricane, we are OK but no power until at least Thursday. The army is giving out water and MRE kits, but probably not Kosher……we had a lot of damage but primarily in the back towards the water and mostly the yard, house is OIK!!

I understand as an outsider at first glance it may seem this way. We put such weight on our utterences to G-d that there is a heavy burden on our speech. When someone is desperate he may utter a desperate plea; later his circumstances may change. For example someone may desperately utter, "Dear L-rd if you save my son's life I will give you the Million dollars in my savings account." The son is healed but btefore it happens a hacker steals the Million dollars. In Judaism, the vow cannot just be shluffed off and this creates crushing guilt on a person of conscience. So, the Kol Niddrei is a way to protect ourselves from ourselves. It has nothing to do with lying. The man who pledged his $1 M was sincere and not lying. The prayer also does *NOT* cancel vows made between people. For example if someone vows to you, "if you cure my son I will give you a million dollars" and you are a miracle surgeon and somehow pull this off then a hacker steals the Million; the person is still obligated to repay it even after the Kol Niddrei because this is an agreement between humans. I hope you understand better now. There is no lying going on merely safeguarding of our speech. This is why it is common practice among religious Jews to say "Bliy neder" when something may be ambiguous as to be a promise or not. For example, "Maybe I can come and teach you all again in the future, bliy neder (without a vow)." shalom
