Hello! I'm wondering if you would be willing to create closed captioning for this video. Those with visual impairments cannot use screen readers to 'read' the text that's embedded in the video. Additionally, having captions allows English-language learners to select a different language for auto-translation if they prefer. Please consider enhancing the accessibility of this powerful video by adding captions. Thanks!
I wanted to learn how to make a taco and this taught me literally nothing. She talked for most of the minute and folded something like twice. Very disappointed and I will not recommend to anyone.
Thank youfor this video.I have been struggling with this version of Microsof Office. I was used to Microsoft Office 97, which was so much straightforward and simple to use. As soon as I fully switch to Linux I will be using either LibreOffice or OpenOffice.org or OnlyOffice. I don't have much experience witht those, either, however I am pretty confident they will do better than MIcrosoft Office 2007. And besides, I will *NEVER* ever use software as a service/ subscription.
Awesome! Thx I just stumbled over your video as I read an article . I have students who are refugees so this will help me a lot. Can’t believe I have used Boardmaker for years... and not noticed this useful perk!!!
This is so oversimplified- typical kids do not acquire speech simply because they hear it- they learn it because they begin to use speech in thousands and thousands of situations and these actions are reinforced. So too with a device- 'modeling' only works if a learner has a strong imitative repertoire. Learning to use a device- or other picture based systems- is more a function of the reinforcement for small increments than for the so-called modeling going on. You can ignore reinforcement- just like you can ignore gravity- but gravity will still operate when you step off the roof- and reinforcement operates whether you understand it or not. Please don't suggest that 'modeling' for 'months and months and months' is a sufficient agent of change.
I think the point of the video is to explain in a simple way why modeling with the speech generating device is important, not to imply that there are no other factors enabling expressive language development. It succeeds at this by the fact of its' "oversimplification".
Hi, Just wondering how does it work? Is this a software / app which can be download on IPad . I really need the details for my son. Can you detailed plz ? Thanks
I love this video and would like to include in a professional development webinar I am creating - is that okay? I heard you present once at ATIA and I really loved the interactive style of your presentation!!
This is so great & will really help my daughters team understand. Would it be available to download please?so it can be played where you tube access is denied?
+Janie Beaumont Hey there Janie! So glad it helped! If you put a "ss" before the "y" in the URL of any RU-vid video you'll be taken to a page where you can download the video as an .mp4 file - So, try this... www.ssru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-flFNMky22-U.html Does that work? If not, let me know.
Gunilla, We've had this translated into German and French so we'd love to see it translated to Swedish too! You can contact Chris.Bugaj@lcps.org and we'll figure it out. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Just saw this now.
This is wonderful! Do you have a french version? If not, would it be possible to work together to create one? I'm an SLP and would like to introduce this video to teachers in the school board i work for.
Hey the Martine, I was contacted by someone asking for permission to make a French version but nothing has come of it. We can totally work together on it!
