don't have the leed screw engaged when you have the machine in higher gears...you risk crashing the apron into the chuck like you nearly did except you were able to react in time....disengage the dog clutch on the left hand side of the leed screw and only engage it when thread cutting in low gears
That's a very nice milling machine!! Made in Sweden Got too run one once at United Airlines and it makes a Bridgeport look sick !! Don't come any better than that!!
