Thank you very much for this video. Today I found the infuser in a weird position... I was about to find a specialist who could fix this problem. But at the beginning of your video, you explained the cause of this problem and the solution to fix it. It was very simple and it fixed the infuser's position. Thanks again!!!
Don’t know why you say to keep soap away from the infuser. I’ve had my ESAM5400 for over 20 years and have always put the diffuser in a dishwasher run with all my kitchen stuff at 60°C, obviously the soap tablet washes the diffuser intensively during its hour-long run - there has never been a problem, in fact no problem whatsover with this amazing machine during all of the 20+ years. Brilliant Italian engineering!
Great video guys, thank you. I always empty the grounds container EVERY time I make a coffee. Why? Because if I leave them inside and the door closed, humidity from the steam when making very quickly causes mould to form in the grounds which then necessitates thorough cleaning and even disinfecting-some moulds can be very dangerous to health.
My machine will not descale. The water spout will not flow with water when using the descale function. It sits at descaling plese wait without actually going through the process. Is the machine broken?
Hi, Guys! Great video. One of my daughters didn't know how to add water to our Delonghi Perfecto. She opened the ground coffee shoot and said that must be it and poured water into that spout. Water was everywhere and she unknowingly turned the unit upside down. We dried it out as best as we could, but the only thing we see on the screen is "Insert grounds container." I have recycled the power and replaced the grounds container several times without success. I removed the bottom and there is no water at the switch for the grounds container. What can I do?
Just adding another comment here (just noticed that I added one 3 years ago) - keep coming back to this great video every time I have to do any cleanup or repair work on this machine. One of the best DIY videos that I've used.
Thanks for the video guys, first time watching. I really need to do a thorough cleaning of this kind for the exact same machine (the Bay $899, $1000 off regular price)
Great vid guys. Thanks. It really helped. Too bad these machines are scarce now. So are parts. The Phillips ones don’t hold a candle to the Perfectas. It’s all in the long lasting crema they produce. The Phillips don’t do that. I took mine completely apart today. It was a gonner. “Grind to fine error” it turned out my generator piston was super gunked up and lots of the holes were clogged. I spent hours checking everything else in a hidden diagnostic test mode these machines have and traced the problem to the generator. I took a gamble and tore it completely apart and cleaned the heck out of it with a brush and warm water. Banda-Bing, back in business!
Guys- this is still a great video that I have watched a bunch of times. I recently had the common issue of a leaking spot (it sprung a leak in the centre of the sliding piece). Your video is the go-to guide for self repair of the perfecta! Overall great machine, and great video!
My switch button was broke and the spout broke, from which it was leaking. Your guide helped me fix the espresso machine. 😄 Good job, guys. 👍👏 Greetings from Poland. 👋
HI! Thank you for a very useful video. I have a problem to submit to you. Could you show us how to open the front panel with the screen, because I have a problem of bad contact inside. When I push on to it, it lights when I relieve the pressure it goes off. This concern only this little screen the rest of the screen works perfectly. Thanks for your help.
Thanks so much for this detailed video guys. My spout has cracked and I wasn’t confident I could get to it. I have glued it up now and it’s great but I think I’ll source a replacement anyway. After you taste the coffee following the full clean you realise just how badly it was needed!
Thanks for the vid, that was helpful - especially noting the *screws are T15 Torx security screw heads.* I Just disassembled my K5 68. at 1:30 there are EIGHT, not seven, screws after the top 4 for the handle are removed.. Don’t forget to remove the two screws above the wheels.
This is a very helpful video. What about a video to clean the Delonghi bean to cup caffe venezia? I alsow can't find a video off how to use cleaning tablets in my Delongi bean to cup coffee machine. Can I just put the tablet in my water tank like a descaling tablet, and then turn on the descaling program? The caffè vevezia does not have a cleaning program, only descaling.
Just bought this model Perfecta today, all works well in good nic for a older unit, and best part only $100, Just don't have the eco function in the Australian models
Amazing video guys! Can I have you over to check mine? Lol I wonder if you can identify what is the problem with mine? It’s about 5 years old, I turned it off and unplugged when was going away When I returned and plug it back , the coffee started to drip instead of pour , eg its like making espresso instead of coffee, feels there is no water pressure- takes forever to make s full cup and the quantity of water seems smaller that it shall be … repair no everywhere in Toronto about three weeks wait time … is there os anything I can try myself? I cleaned the machine’s removable parts and the grinder
Finally a good repair video on this machine. Couldn't figure out how to pull the infuser out until I watched, I never knew the machine had to run thru the power off cycle. I took my infuser plate off and cleaned the stainless plate with oven cleaner, the caked on coffee was causing an off flavor in my coffee.
Awesome guys. I was just checking to see what I could use at home for de-scaling (vinegar supposedly), and now I'm tearing my machine apart because the milk spout was gross. Thanks
My machine’s spout cracked and leaks. This video is exactly what I needed to fix my machine. The nearest repair shop is a 2 hr drive each way. I enjoy repairing my machine -- it is a steady performer for many years. I make many cappuccinos each day and had the cleaning down well. I now feel confident to replace my door w/ the spout in place. Thanks guys, time for a Kahlua capachino
My spout cracked and leaked too. I followed this video to pull it all apart. I rang my repair place who told me that they would just super glue the crack if I'd brought it in. So I did. Brilliant video. Thanks guys.
So helpful! We were gifted this machine, but it kept saying the coffee bin was full. Your video helped me know how to clean it and get it to work. Thanks!
