Hey, I’m going to Oahu in August and I’m looking to purchase a new ukulele. I’ve been playing for a few months now too. Do you know of any stores I should go to while I’m there? Based on prices and brands etc. Thanks mahalo 🤙🏽
Aloha.. You should definitely try and take at THE UKULELE SITE in Haleiwa. If you want more details, please send us an email at ukuleleprojecthawaii@gmail.com
Are the name brands (I.e. KoAloha, Kamaka, etc.) in these tents at a lower price compared to if you purchased directly from the manufacturer or reputable dealer? Just curious.
This seat-of-the-pants approach is less than helpful. At minimum, the height of the strings at the 12th feet should be determined as the sanding proceeds. About 2.5 mm at the 12th fret is the usual target. The string height at the first fret should be about the thickness of a business card.
We really need to make it out to Kapolei on one of those Wednesdays. It looks like SO MUCH FUN!!! Always love what you and Ky are doing. So lucky to know you and the family!
Just buy a regular classical guitar set over the counter, get rid of the two E strings, put the four middle strings on your tenor uke and tune it to DGBE. Simple and inexpensive.
Amazing work that is lead by God manifested through you, your wife and the kids!! Mahalo nui for all the kokua and aloha you show to our communities!!!
