(During "Skinny" regarding crying): "Real ones know its on the inside". Genuinely curious as to what you mean. I think putting emotion on a spectrum and hiding it is harmful, personally. So yeah. I know it's how you feel. But art is releasing that hidden emotion in my eyes.
She said “do you still cry?” And I said “nope, I haven’t done that in years” to then I added “real ones know it’s on the inside” meaning crying on the inside. Just because I dont cry, or show that I’m crying, doesn’t mean the emotions aren’t there.
It's just funny, cause they all talk in the second one, so it's just a bit jarring. Your VO is fantastic it's your "rewrites" to the dialog that are interesting 😂
I honestly have an issue with reading out loud tho. My brain reads faster than my mouth can relay them and with that there’s a speech tempo and timing I have to hit that it gets jumbled more often than not.
Combine that with making different types of voices you make, would definitely make it even more difficult to read, still you did a great job all things considered In my opinion 😄
When I saw the intro as the teaser for this game, I honestly thought the original looked like this but I was wronggg lol. They put a lot of work into it
I don't think it's a good idea to overthink what happened, if you really thing it's a signal maybe you should take an appointment with a therapist so you can talk it out and get yourself a coherent conclusion. Going once with a therapist is never a waste of time or money! And yeah, so glad you are okay!
There's a million ways to interpret or subtract meaning from that- potentially life altering event. I personally think it's important to look back in order to learn, but not dwell in it or you'll be consumed by it. Regardless of what you derived from it, I'm glad you're safe.
I think the first dad was just scared for his son. I'm white but I know the black community has a harder time just existing. Being homosexual in the white community isn't "easy" either; so, I can only imagine. So, I think the first dad was terrified. He went about it wrong, but I don't think he meant to hurt his son. The second dad was just in shock. Any would be even if it was a heterosexual relationship. The only thing is that he'd let a girl get dressed before rushing her out of the house. You should listen to "Burden" or "You Are Enough" by Citizen Solider if you haven't yet. Both touches heavily on the topic of those dark thoughts but have a lot of hope in them.
The only actual "lore videos" are Overcompensate, Navigating, and Paladin Strait. Which, by the way, if I'm not mistaken, is the most lore videos we've gotten for an album
The shell and box is supposed to represent sai, and the guys in suits are the music industry. Sai is seen as a failure or a regression, hence "that's a miss." That put all that work into sai just for it to be pushed aside. I personally think sai has always been underrated, and I think people just love to hate it
It’s a good album if their name wasn’t twenty one pilots, is basically how the community feels about it. I personally like it. I always looked at anything even the bad stuff that it’s either that or we never had it. I rather have something than nothing
each video feels like a time loop lmao 44:15 I mean it's a shock line but how else do you say "you're getting f^cked over by the profession who is supposed to take care of your ass" in lavish -/being worse than unsupported
this comment is kinda late but the craving single version mv is about scaled and icy. It was a very different project but they had great expectations for it and worked really hard for it (scaled and icy being the bullet they worked so hard for) but at the end it was called a "miss" by the critics, fans, etc.
The videos definitely didnt suffer, i think people just had too many expectations for tons of lore videos, when theyve always had a lot of videos that arent strictly lore heavy. But i love them all personally. I love seeing the boys just having fun making music.
@@TECHNOFREAK126Every clancy video is a lore video. this is provable by through meta analysis of thematic repetition. The implications are enough to define and recontextualize while working to maintain a range that allows for the broad interpretations people have had. It also works to reveal lore in other songs. Clancy is like a Key to the map of Dema. A key that when layed out with the rest of the lyrics (and music and themes and arcs etc) that give outline it adds definition to those lines.
398642 on his sweatshirt is "cihfdb" if we change it to letters. And that could mean "Clancy is here for destroying bishops". And that would mean that Paladin Strait is not their last song for this story... :) Just saying...
12:45 damn spot on! That’s exactly what happened at the concert I went to. We all got yellow and red pieces of paper to put over our phone flashlights while waiting in line so when they played backslide we’d all wave them around
Also just realized watching to the end of this. You dont have the Paladin Strait MV. Hope well that we'll get that 1 from you to see what you think of that. Great reactions none the less. 😊
Thank you 🙏🏻, lol yeah I recorded this when the everything came out but posted it just after that MV came out. I plan on doing a reaction to that this week and hopefully getting it out at the end of the week.
Love your breakdowns... the 1 that stands out is the SNAPBACK 1. I really wasn't getting it to that extreme. 😕 the fact it does seem Tyler has to dig deep to get us the best work.. there is an element of addiction to break down and give it 1 last fight to get over it.. or himself. To become in a state of just "being" the balance of extremes.
Thank you, yeah I often feel like my breakdowns are generally incorrect(?), in terms of getting the info wrong in understanding the actual material. However, in however way I am interpreting it, it lends itself to a different perspective that others may have not thought of. I could look up online and see WHAT IS the answer and follow that, or I can make my own conclusions based off of what I know and feel the material is saying. I’ve been told that this song was specifically about addiction, not necessarily related to Tyler, but, in my understanding of the material, HOW does it relate to him? That’s probably why my interpretation differs from people. That’s why I said (paraphrasing), “how much of this is lore related, how much of this is Tyler irl related, and how much of it is not related to either but is a song with a message that doesn’t actually connect to either?”. Because not everything relates to the whole story but the story is everywhere so how does it fit together? I made a video of breaking down Scaled and Icy. And I 100% misunderstood that story, but within context was able to form another story. (It’s somewhere on the channel if you want to compare what we know and what I thought). Theory crafting is basically the long and the short of it lol
Lavish is about the music industry and how fake it is - I think the proctologist line is talking about how some artists will just bend over and basically do whatever to try to be famous Tyler actually mapped all this out on Google Maps and they filmed it all over Columbus looking for all the signs
a couple things you might want to know: next semester is mainly about a panic attack tyler had. the person in the video walks into the middle of the road hoping to get hit, and instead they are given a second chance by the person who dodges them. the song reflects on the fact that what is done is done and there's nothing you can do to change that. just start again fresh next semester and try to get better. vignette (my personal favorite) is most likely about addiction to drugs/alcohol. it turns the person into a zombie and they find themselves in the woods alone after a massive binge. the "vignette" refers to their vision closing in on itself as they pass out. the whole "no no not me its for a friend" is kinda self explanatory with that context. the craving, the singles version to be specific, is a big reference to scaled and icy. the whole idea is exactly as you described, with them putting all of that creative energy and work into something that was called a miss by most of their fans. the dragon from the choker music video is actually in one of the shots which is cool. makes me feel bad for them because although sai was a concept album, it was actually very good and its heartbreaking that all the work they put in is for something that most people feel is a low point in their history. you sorta hit the nail on the head for oldies station (another of my favorites), but it is cool to note that he made that song for the fans. it also reflects on how many fans have found a sort of sanctuary in this community of people that helps them feel heard, and that eventually, a lot of them begin to feel better and actually enjoy their lives. little things that inconvenienced them like red lights no longer bother them because they finally are able to move away from their demons and live their lives. they don't have to worry about darker thoughts as they grow out of their darker places and they can even survive to experience their kids grow up (like tyler with his daughter's dance recitals). honestly this and atrofd are the most important songs on the album message-wise. finally, just wanted to note that tyler didn't really wanna keep routines in the night or navigating because he felt like both of them were a bit more generic of a sound compared to what they usually do. he didn't want another scaled and icy moment. good thing josh pushed for them otherwise they wouldn't have made the album. they may not play them at the tours which kinda sucks though.
FPE originates in Fairly Local. The few the proud & the emotional as Nico mocks Clancy with. I like that the have repurposed it with new phrases throughout the journey for a bit of fun
Lol yeah, “free pool equipment” was a good one. (Obvi time has passed since when I recorded my reaction that I looked into some more Easter eggs, this being one of them)
Tyler/Clancy himself never had the mask until navigating. In Overcompensate, the dead body he’s seizing wears the mask. I think it’s made confusing by the fact that we’re essentially seeing the person possessing that body for most of the video, and the Spell/disguise (at least in terms of the viewer) breaks when he stops seizing the body. But essentially, any time we see Tyler in that video we’re seeing the person he’s seizing perform these actions. Until the end, where it’s revealed that he’s just arrived from the island (Voldsoy)
@@DrtBgMarx If we count the Next Semester video, a small snippet of navigating plays in the beginning, which could chronologically place next semester as occurring after navigating.
I think the missed shot was about that no matter how good music you make, it can still happen that it won't sell. On the bench, Tyler's wife Jenna (still pregnant with their son Tommy, born in April 2024), and Jordan Dun, Josh's brother. The hoodie: Josh's best friend in Korean. And yeah, lights in the background.
enjoyed your reaction! i really love the more low budget videos because they're so creative and i really feel like you see their personality and more 'fun' side poking through. listening to their commentary in the livestream they did it was really cool to hear how hands on they are in all their videos. yep, it's jenna and josh's brother in midwest indogo (was supposed to be josh's wife but she was out of town when they were filmin).
Yeah, i do appreciate the small scale team they had when making this. I just wished they didn’t advertise this to be the last album and only 3 songs be (in story) lore driven. I haven’t seen the paladin strait music video yet. I’m going to try to record it today and see what’s going on with that
FPE also stands for "the Few, the Proud and the Emotional" It is in ride, Paladin Strait and more. It also stands for Failed perimeter escape and the petrol station in Backslide lol. Sorry
There’s also “free pool equipment” that was on an ad for the album before some of the singles came out 😂😂. Some things i have learned since the album came out. Editing just took me a while with this one. Been working on it since 3 days after the album released 😂😅
The song isn't about her being angry at him The song is about her being totally harassed by him and not taking the fact that they're not dating anymore. And him trying all these tricks and calling people to try to get her to come back .. This is her way of saying I'm tired of explaining to you this I'm done does this get it through your head.
loving this song! josh did a great job directing the video. In an interview josh said he and his brother built a rig for tyler's bike to go on for the close up shots and that he found the experience of directing the video very stressful and he's not in a hurry to do it again.
I saw! It was really cool to see them bring back songs they haven’t played since what? 2014? They should do a Clancy tour and then a “Eras” tour afterwards since they’re not working on new music after Clancy’s out. At least for a while.
Personally, I think I like Next Semester more out of the three. This one is a little slow for me, although I really like the chorus. I can’t wait either. I’ll be going live next week for Billie Eilish’s album and then obviously Twenty one pilots’ album the week after. I’ll do an announcement soon talking about it
