Not that this is a bad game by any means but, didn't the colony on LV-426 get completely destroyed in a thermonuclear explosion at the end of Aliens? So why does the colony still exist?
Awesome they were able to get all the actors from the film back for these dlc titles. All except for, I believe Ian Holm (though they acquired his permission to use his likeness) and John Hurt (who plays Kane, dead in the film continuity prior to the start of the Crew Expendable dlc). Who wouldn't wanna play as Ripley?? It's the closest, most authentic thing to having the CLASSIC '79 Alien film just in video game form.
I haven't been able to find out how this game does reflections. They're not screen-space, as they remain visible when you look down, and it was 2014 so I'm assuming they're not ray-traced. Are they rendering the entire map twice, once upright and once upside-down?

Only Ken Levine was able to make a non sequel to Bioshock, put it the same name and a whole different setting (and multiverse stuff) and still be as great as his original masterpiece. We don't deserve you Ken 🙏
Damn man saw this on steam and had to say the dude wanted to play his Theremin thats the instrument he is playing and yes its actual real instrument. Such a bizarre one but no doubt a instrument
Truly a great game, extremely tactical with fun mechanics and layers of interactions. - The only complaint i had was that the xenomorphs never climbed on walls or ceilings, if they could do that, the game would be a lot different. Now, all they could do was walk and run, and stay on the ground, the AI worked but was very basic. Pretty stupid but deadly AI, I played it on the hardest difficulty. So at times you put down your turrets to make a killing field, next to some large objects the aliens cannot scale over, so they are forced into your line of fire, but if the alien could scale all surfaces, you know, they could have flanked your marines more often than not by scaling objects that you otherwise relied on to protect the flank of your turret positions. It would have made for a far more interesting game. Pretty cool and very wild story also. Alien telepathy...
Agreed. It`s good to see that other types of games getting the spot light recently not just the usual 1st/3rd person shooters. And yes, Dark Descent is fun, but the same time challenging too
