Htoo Eain Thin (Burmese: ထူးအိမ်သင်; born Kyaw Myint Lwin ; 1 July 1963) was one of the most popular and respected Burmese singer-songwriters. He brought a new style of pop rock music to the Burmese music scene in mid-1980s, and was popular till his death in 2004. He released 14 solo albums in his 18-year career. His songs remain Burmese standards and his premature death is still mourned by millions of fans.
This melody “Casablanca” by Bertie Higgins is loved by people all over the world. Sung in several languages like in Japanese “哀愁のカサブランカ” by Hiromi Go, in Cantonese “片段” by Leslie Cheung, in Turkish “Hatırlar Mısın?” by Ajda Pekkan etc. I just found this Htoo Eain Thin’s version and this is the most beautiful one to me even I don’t understand Burmese. What a great singer !
He already passed away several years ago. He was a poet, a revolutionary, a musician and a simple friend. Most of his songs are composed, arranged by himself. He also appreciated other musicians around the world. This is one of his own creations: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x-gYU8ptNdo.htmlsi=LqKIeiRThFvxlgnH ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FA112V4NIqs.htmlsi=43_R8ApKSiR097kJ
@@RishiOfOzark Thank you for great recommendation. The Iron Cross had played this song for a session in Japanese TV program to introduce Burmese rock. Yes. The history of music is like a river. I believe songs from the past are still existing in the undercurrent even if I can’t see it now on the surface. Viva Burmese rock with lots of respect from Japan !
