OLD Leather Smith here, very nice, great 2 hear the hand work & NO MUSIC. Suggestion, I cemented a piece of upholstery hide hair side up 2 the snap anvil thus NO SCRATCHES on snap or rivet caps. Question Is the saddle stitch the only stitch U use? GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️🥎🙃
Thanks for the kind words. This is version 5 and this is using some 4/5 ounce Herman Oak. Fun fact this is actually what got me into leatherworking many years ago I wanted something made like this, so I did it
That's Awesome friend... You have taught me things, an I have watched thousands of these videos.. Is that water you spray on the paper to scratch your design in? Also the way you do your edges is awesome... Is that tokonole and water spray you use on them?? Sorry for all the questions, but I've only been doing this for a couple years and I am still trying to teach myself and I'm learning.. I wish there was a class I could go take to learn a lot of this stuff.. Anyway, thanks again for the video. Amazing as usual..
I appreciate your comment. I love talking about craftsmanship. I just used the distilled water to case the leather to scribe the tooling pattern into it and edge burnishing starts out with slicking with just water and sanding and then for a final finish I use Angeles Lester cream, which not only helps slick the leather edge, but gives it a good shine
@@WiseHeritage I tried your water and sanding earlier on a phone case I'm making and I can't believe how good it turned out... I will be doing that from now on my friend.. I can't wait to see more of your projects to come... Thanks again...
I really liked this project.. Very nice work.. I have a couple questions?? Where did you get that diamond stamp? I really like the simplicity and how it made your project look... Did you put anything on the outside of the leather and if not how dark it will look in a couple years time? I really like the look of the plain veg tan leather look... But if it got just a little darker, it wouldn't be that bad either.. Nice project my friend..
Thank you for the kind words. The stamp I’m using is a diamond geometric checkered stamp. I didn’t show this in the video, but I did put a coat of oil and a wax finish on the leather and it definitely darkens with time or if you just sit out in the sun it will literally get tan, that’s one of the best parts of seeing it change overtime if you ask me
@@WiseHeritage I love when u see things like this inside waistband knife case.. I have never seen a leather one and this is by far the nicest one leather or not that I have seen... I'll be watching your projects in the future my friend. Thank you for the video...
Thank you for this case cover design; I haven't seen anything like this before, it's very practical and logical. Do you have the possibility to share the template in PDF format?"
Not sure I fully understand your question, but in the video I show burnishing the inside of the pouch and at the end of the video what the pouch looks like in use
@@jimmybrown2904 well it’s certainly not for everybody but, I wanted something that when out doing errands It’s does not look flashy but then if you’re hanging out with friends and somebody needs a tool and you pull it out of this, they might ask and you have something then flashy to be proud of. and when it’s not in use it’s a functional piece of art on my desk
